Not as good anymore - Edit
This was always my favorite place to go for dinner but the menu (and maybe the chef & owner) has changed. In the past everything was made with a lot of love and eye for detail. Plus everything was delicious (loved their pizza but no longer on the menu). Now they have a mix of dishes that look to cater more to the general public. They have "burgers" that taste good but make sure to specifically ask for gluten free! and the side dishes are an after thought (just plain bad). Also their juices have changed and taste the same as their side dishes. Sorry to see my favorite place to take a turn for the worse.

Sorry you were unhappy. I hope you said something to your server. We aim to please and not sure what you had but our food is generally delicious. I hope you will give us another try. I, the owner, stepped back in in June after a well-meaning chef reworked my classic recipes. Things are great again and we are serving amazing food once more!

I had the Thai Curry Soup that I loved but it didn't taste the same anymore. Also the veggies were always nicely minced but now it was more like a quick chop. I also ended up ordering the beyond burger - nothing special to me (maybe to others) and lots of oil/fat. I ordered this because I was surprised that things like the Mediterranean Pizza wasn't on the list anymore, Does your comment mean that these dishes are back on the menu again?

The food is good, but the portions are small. - Edit
Food is good but portions are very small and expensive. We left pretty hungry even though we had purchased quite a bit of food. Food was very fresh and the outdoor seating was nice.

Pros: Fresh, Healthy , Nice Area
Cons: Expensive , Small Portions , Did not have kid-friendly options
Leafy Greens Cafe
Not sure what was ordered because portion sizes are generous. Our prices are lower than all other vegan restaurants in St Pete as well.

10 years and counting! - Edit
After opening in 2008, the challenges with being the ONLY vegan restaurant in St Pete have been rewarded with the title of “First” vegan restaurant. We are proud to have contributed to the healthy food awareness that is now growing in the US. Through the years we started with a full cooked and raw menu then migrated into totally raw and, in 2017, returned to a cooked and raw menu retiming some of the famous raw food recipes we are known for but adding delicious hot food as well as daily and weekly specials. We still create our own raw food cakes and have a phenomenal reputation in that regard. Our rating across the internet are high 4’s and 5’s. Our food speaks for

Awapuhi is a great update! Fab brunch - Edit
Leafy greens new concept, Awapuhi is excellent. Their vegan gluten-free blueberry pancakes are outstanding and the eggless tofu sandwich is fantastic. Definitely recommend them. So many gluten-free options.

Good food, but pricey. - Edit
I had the Taco Salad, which I really enjoyed (especially the yummy house made taco sauce!) but it (and everything else) was a bit pricey. Healthy and delicious, just not ideal for eating out on a budget. I do love that this restaurant is part of a straw-free initiative in St. Pete!

Ramen bowl disappointing - Edit
This review is based on just the one dish I tried, the Healthy Ramen Bowl. The broth was very salty and there wasn’t a whole lot going on inside: a few scattered mushrooms and bits of red pepper, plus noodles that were partly stuck together. Very friendly service and cozy interior with outdoor seating options.

First Visit - Edit
As whole food, plant based eaters, we're always interested in new food options both for dining out and eating at home. We decided to try Leafy Green, based on reviews hoping for some menu inspiration. Sadly, we did not feel we got great value. The menu was somewhat limited, and most of the choices were off limits for us due to some dietary sensitivities. Oil being one, and many options were walnut, cashew etc. We were fine ordering two Beyond Burgers. The presentation was really lacking - we ordered the gulten free bread - it was prepared as a burger between two toasted bread slices, with the mushrooms we requested. No garnish whatsoever. The side option was very small, 1/3 cup of corn with red pepper and onion. The bill was $31 plus tip!! At least dress it up a little...

Cool little cafe - Edit
Very cool little Mom & Pop cafe located in the end of a small strip of businesses. As of July 2019 there’s a lot of construction going on around it so it’s a bit hard to find, but you’ll be glad you did.

Really tasty - Edit
The time I went it was good! My whole family isn’t vegan and they enjoyed the impossible and beyond burger. The teas are phenomenal and the owner sparked a great conversation with my grandparents about being vegan for health. Very cool and relaxed place, but very quite. Nice staff and the owner encouraged me to come cook with her sometime!

Is no longer RAW vegan. Food good. Smaller location now.
We walked in and only one couple with eating at the table all of the other tables were dirty there were no waiters no one to greet us and we stood and waited for someone to come in and clean off one of the dirty tables .
*********Our waiter made a point of telling us he is not a vegan and even describe how he grills beef and chicken and told me he was a chef. **********
I made it clear that my daughter and I were vegan and did not want to hear about it he's still persisted. He also forgot my soup brought my bill never brought the soup I did eventually get him to bring the soup he was very busy flirting with another customer. it appears that they have desserts that look fantastic from a distance however I was never given a dessert menu although my child would have really liked a desert.I felt that I was lucky to even get my soup so we went somewhere else had I not been so hungry we would have gone somewhere else before ordering when he talked about the chicken that he needs to eat so that he can get enough protein. there are two reasons why I go to a vegan restaurant first of all because I don't have to worry about cross-contamination and second because I don't have to hear people talk about meat. my daughter loved her Burger which the waiter made a point to let her know that it tasted just like delicious beef.I made a point to let him know that at 17 years old she is never tasted beef and we did not want to hear about meat. my soup of the day was subpar it was hot that's the best thing that I can say about it.my salad was phenomenal although not really sure how you can mess up a salad the tea was very good I guess I'm just disappointed because the last time I went was in 2016 they were at a different location they had an all raw vegan menu and everything was phenomenal so I was disappointed to see their new location is much smaller not as nice also the menu was extremely Limited they focus on burgers and taco lettuce wraps primarily. Our lunch was $45 we had a burger a soup of the day a salad a tea and very bad service . And looking over the reviews in the photos all of the good photos are of food at their old location. I feel really sad that they gave up on raw vegan there are a lot of vegan restaurants there are very few raw vegan restaurants in raw is just beginning to really take off in that area it's always sad for me when a vegan business is not successful . there are many vegan choices in St Petersburg Florida and I will not be back to leafy greens sadly
Pros: vegan
Cons: Mediocre at best service, Opinionated non-vegan waitstaff, Limited menu

Attentive service and a nice menu selection of raw and cooked. Another table had the raw zucchini marinara which looked terrific. We had the ramen bowl, and 3 of us had the daily special Impossible burger. High reviews from everyone. Both soups, tomato bisque and tortilla were excellent. The special corn side and the black beans were both delicious

had to leave :( - Edit
I was SO excited to try this place, but after getting there and sitting down, and sitting and sitting and sitting (without anyone acknowledging we even walked in and sat down) we looked around and 4 other tables still didn’t have their food. One person was trying to wave someone down to pay and everyone there looked very aggravated. We decided to walk down the road to another vegan option. Still, no one acknowledged we were there. NOT a good experience and would definitely not recommend wasting your time!

Unfortunately if you come in during a “rush” everyone sits down at one time and, like every other restaurant, the kitchen slows down and the staff runs around like crazy. If you had the same experience in the second location, I suspect you were walking in during peak hours. Delays have to be expected when arriving between noon and 1 :30 pm. Very sorry for your experience. I hope you will try again. The food we make is worth the wait!

I was so happy to find a vegan restaurant in our vacation to Florida. The food was awesome! Even my non vegan husband said his was delicious. He got the ramen noodle bowl and I got the burger on pretzel bread. I wished I had room for the cheesecake that another table ordered but I was stuffed! Would come back if I were in the area again.

Bad experience - Edit
Hello. I wanted to let you know that I had a bad experience today at leafy greens. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and I found a long black hair in my food. I did not order anything else from the menu and I will not be returning to the restaurant. Thank you.

This person had long black hair and nobody in my kitchen had the same hair described in the review. As for the smell we make everything from scratch so the smell is veggie burgers and fresh made breads. Our cafe is spotless with perfect health inspections. We wash our floors with pine cleaner every day and our bathrooms are also cleaned daily.

Great Food - Helpful Folks - Edit
We tried this café while on vacation in the area and we were only a few weeks into the vegan eating. I had the Udon noodle bowl and a slaw which was absolutely delish. My wife had the burger and it was great although we are not into the alternative meats. The staff (wait and kitchen) staff was most informative and let us try a few different things. I would not miss a chance to come here again when I am in the St. Pete area. Tasty and inspiring experience.
