Pleasantly Surprised - Edit
My husband and I have been to Leaf a few times over the years and have generally felt it was so-so, but we decided to take a chance for a Valentine's Day lunch and were pleasantly surprised.
Read moreThings seem to have improved over the years - the variety and flavor of the dishes offered, we like the slightly more casual atmosphere than their old location, and the drink selection.
The thing that put our experience over the top for us was the service. Jaidyn is an absolute gem and should be protected at all costs. She was lovely, personable, absolutely spot-on with her recommendations, and truly made the experience special for us.
Our favorites were the mushroom appetizer and the tequila old fashioned.
Pros: Excellent Service, Delicious Dishes, Plenty of Vegan Options

Nice veggie spot - Edit
Visited some dayz ago; really nice ambience; had the Leaf plate while asked 4 gf bread which I was served; felt that plate consisted of appetizers that complement other dishes but, flavours were that strong that it was not possible for me ( for me ) to feel the overall flavour of the plate and sadly enough couldn’t enjoy it. Two slices of toasted gf bread coming with the plate (the waitress did not make clear what kind of gf bread was about) were wet and oily like sb took it out of the freezer , put it in an oiled pan and just quickly heat it up a little bit; felt to me but upscaled, which is not bad, and not necessarily oriented to students despite its location

Classy and healthy - Edit
This is a classy, but not fancy, venue (waiter served, silverware, cloth napkins) with a relaxed vibe. The food here is all vegetarian and mostly vegan (or with vegan option), and health oriented and creatively prepared.

Vegetarian restaurant with many vegan options - Edit
Great restaurant in the city centre of Boulder. I went for brunch and it offered many interesting choices for vegans. Some of them gluten free.

Delicious pasta. Wish they committed to 100% vegan. - Edit
The couple things I had here were bomb. Most things can be made vegan. I feel like if your food is this delicious, why not commit to a fully vegan menu. Perhaps instead of serving goat cheese maybe craft a vegan “goat” cheese that is unique to your spot. Anyways. Good service tasty food. Just wish it was all vegan.

Good vegan options - Edit
Leaf has a great array of vegan options! I’ve been here a handful of times and it’s fairly reliable! This past time I ordered the Bahn Mi which was pretty good. My friends crab cake sandwich was INSANELY good though 10/10

Good food, not my favorite - Edit
Leaf has very good food but sometimes the dishes are hit or miss. I personally love the pad Thai. Didn’t love the mushroom app. The ambiance is very elegant, the restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly.

Wonderful lunch - Edit
We had lunch here on a busy Saturday and were able to sit on their patio. The atmosphere was pleasant and there were plenty of vegan options on the menu. We got their vegan crab cake sandwich and the vegan Bahn Mi sandwich. I got a side of their roasted red pepper soup and my husband got the fries. Everything was delicious and we were too full for dessert. Would definitely like to come back to try their breakfast.

YUMMY - Great atmosphere and unique dishes - Edit
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. The oyster mushroom appetizer was plentiful and tasty. Enough to share. The jerk tempe was a unique dish with just the right amount of heat. The bimbap was a great plentiful dish with the right amount of heat and big potion of tofu. The peach huckleberry cobbler was delightful and great way to end the meal. The menu was well marked with vegan and gluten-free. Highly recommended.

Semi upscale vegan - Edit
The menu and environment is somewhat upscale. I had the oyster mushroom risotto, which was okay and the avocado tartare which was excellent.

Almost vegan! - Edit
I expected Boulder to have more fully vegan restaurants but am glad that there is a higher end vegetarian restaurant with plenty of vegan options! I had the udon noodles and we shared the oyster mushroom calamari. I had higher hopes for the dishes before coming and unfortunately the food didn’t blow me away. The udon noodles didn’t have very much flavor and I didn’t love the calamari. I did like that they brought over complementary focaccia bread with the meal - that was a nice surprise! I’d come back to give them another chance and try something different. Loved the ambiance though and service was great!

It's OK... - Edit
This place seems a little overhyped, likely because Boulder is still such a desert for vegan options. It's worth a stop, but don't expect the best food.

Just a wonderful experience all around. Ate brunch there twice on vacation and both times a home run with the scramble and then the french toast. Just delicious. A great atmosphere and our waiter Shane was the best ever!!

consistently underwhelmed - Edit
As a vegan living in Boulder long term, I always wanted Leaf to be better than it was, often pretending that it was actually good. I must say the food seems consistently over-fried and not nutritious, if it were dirt cheap then it would be okay. But it is quite pricey.

Don't miss this gem while in Boulder - Edit
One of the best restaurants I've been to, and I tried quite a few. Leaf has amazing food with wonderful flavours blended together masterfully. Almost every dish is either vegan or has a vegan option. Most have gluten free options as well. The atmosphere is relaxed and the cocktails and deserts are delicious.

Love!! - Edit
This restaurant has a variety of vegan and vegetarian options to eat. Some of the items on the menu are better than others. The orange cauliflower was very salty when I got it. I have also had the ramen and it is really strong but with a really delicious acidic unique flavor. You cannot go here without getting the ‘calamari’ mushrooms!! They are fantastic

Came here for a late lunch on a Thursday so it was pretty dead inside. Had the Reuben sandwich which was fine but a bit sauce and salt heavy. Can imagine it’d be nicer with more people, but when I was there it lacked a bit of personality

Pricey but worth it - Edit
We have been twice. The jackfruit enchiladas are top notch but the spaghetti squash options are out of this world. The first time we went I had Spaghetti Squash Puttanesca and it was divine. I was hoping to have it again but the menu changed and this time they had Spaghetti Squash Pesto. It was not at all like a traditional pesto but it was so crazy delicious! Great margaritas too. 🙂

Wonderful, Easy, Thoughtful Vegan Dishes - Edit
OK, this place gets it right. A lot of good choices on the menu, we got the calamari style fried oyster mushrooms, farro salad, and vegetable masala with added fried tofu. Every dish tasted fresh and well made and well spiced. Maybe a minor criticism that the fried tofu add-on was a bit plain. Other than that, this is a fantastic spot for vegans, most of the menu is pretty much vegan or easily made vegan anyway. Great atmosphere, and very nice staff as well!

Great food great location - Edit
So glad we decided to eat here. Stopped in during happy hour and ordered drinks and apps all of them were SO GOOD. Crab cake, buffalo taco, and kale salad were all excellent. For entrees we ordered the jackfruit enchiladas and sweet and sour cauliflower. For desert we ordered cheesecake which I didn’t love but that’s because I didn’t realize it was a raw cheesecake so that’s my bad. All in all I highly recommend.

Impressive Plant-Based Eatery - Edit
You know your food is going to be fresh & prepared with intention when the ingredients per dish change based on what is currently in season & available to the kitchen.
Read moreI ordered biscuits & gravy for an appetizer as well as the smothered burrito for my entree.
Truly well prepared food, you get the vibe from the restaurant snd staff that there is a sense of harmony in the way things are done here. The staff is also super friendly, our waiter was kind and helpful with our questions.
Indoor/outdoor seating and great decor.
I’d personally like to work here for the discounts on great food but I don’t have a trendy enough closet to keep the vibe going each shift!! 🤣
If you’re unfamiliar with the location, Pearl St is a wonderful place to walk around/shop/eat and this is just before the famous “Pearl Street Mall” so plan to stick around after your meal😄

fresh and tasty food - Edit
i enjoyed my experience here and it’s a good place to dine for veg and non veg friends alike, especially with all the options. the vegan crab cake sandwich and mushroom burger were both delicious and items i would recommend ordering for sure! i also liked how i could tell the food was fresh, making the experience all the better.
Read morethe service was pretty good; however, i think they could be clearer with the inclusion of dairy in certain aspects of the menu, as i tried to send my salad back because i accidentally ordered it with cheese and was unable to do so.
edit: i had a great experience during happy hour with a great server and a few delicious small plates!
