Suuuper vriendelijk personeel en je voelt je geen uitzondering omdat je vegan bent. Alleen dat vind ik al fantastisch!
We kozen als apero de lookbroodjes om te delen; hmmmm. Love it!
Mijn partner ging voor steak champignons en ikzelf voor de trio van kroketten (videekroket, kaaaskroket en zeewierkroket).
Beide met wat groenten en frietjes.
Eerlijk kan ik er niets slecht over vertellen, ik moet echt gaan zoeken om iets te bedenken. Het is een restaurant dat een extra troef heeft door een speeltuig te voorzien voor de kids.
Als je volledige rust wil, zal ik het afraden. Persoonlijk vond ik het niet storen. De mogelijkheid om je wat ‘apart’ te zetten kan.
Pros: Het is normaal om vegan te zijn, Vriendelijk personeel , Geslaagde maaltijd

Very nice dinner - Edit
I had the vegan steak with pepper sauce and I loved it. There aren’t many options at the Belgian coast so this place is a gem. It is quite noisy and expensive though. The service is very good.

Lekker eten, populaire plaats dus op voorhand reserveren is aangeraden. Binnenspeeltuin voor kinderen achteraan, Waardoor je er zelf niet echt last van hebt.

Great food at sea, lots of vegan options! We had the vegan share platter, the cheesy croquettes and the seitan steak with vegan mushroom creamy sauce. Everything was fantastic!

Though it is nice to see some vegan options at the coast, the food is not too special.

I had the pancakes. They were ok, not the best. The croque is yummy but nothing too special as the same goes for the videe croquettes.
I should go back sometime for a vegan milkshake.
The staff is friendly we got our food quickly.
It is not bad at all but just nothing too special either. A bit overpriced for what you’re getting. But I do appreciate them making an effort for putting several vegan options at the menu.

Ik was op zoek naar een restaurant waar mijn moeder mosselen kon eten en ik vegan. Aan de kust is dit niet evident dus ik was blij verrast toen ik deze vond. Ik nam de seitan steak met champignionsaus en die was heel lekker. Er waren nog meer vegan opties. De meesten hebben enkel een spaghetti of een burger of salade dus Le Touquet had toch wel wat meer. Het personeel is vriendelijk , het restaurant is ook kindvriendelijk er is een ruimte waar ze zich kunnen amuseren. Ik ben met een goed gevoel en voldaan naar buiten gewandeld. Mijn familie was content en ik was content.

Really heavy meals - Edit
We were extremely excited to find vegan pancakes at the Zeedijk. Considering Ostend is not very vegan-friendly, this place is a nice find. However the pancakes were very (very very) dry, and the food (vegan steak) was too heavy for us.

We went back, once again the meals were very heavy on the stomach. We loved that they serve vegan milkshake and Irish coffee, though!

Great little place on the seafront with various vegan options. Would love to see a few more options appearing soon and a bit of decor updating and refreshing. Staff are very friendly and helpful and make sure to let you know everything on your plate is actually vegan. Would recommend for families with young kids as there is also a play area inside.

Traditional food made vegan - Edit
As a meat eater anonymous I sometimes love a vegan steak. At Le Touquet in Ostend they know how to prepare it, accompanied by the traditional fries and salad. Just lovely! The service is relaxed informal and the view on a stormy sea amazing!

I had the vegan spaghetti bolognaise and my friend had the vegetarian pasta with pesto. My spaghetti bolognaise tasted really nice and I had difficulties finishing my plate as the portions was very generous. Almost half of their menu consists of vegan options, which is very pleasant. The restaurant itself is situated right at the beach and I guess that might explain the price of the dishes. Staff were very friendly and aware of veganism.

Long waiting times and mediocre food - Edit
Food was okay at best. I ordered the vegan ham and cheese croquettes since the ‘normal’ ones were out of stock. Was okay but nothing special. If that was the only thing there wouldn’t be a problem but the mediocre food AND long waiting times made sure I wouldn’t come back.

Tables of people who finished eating and left, remained filthy with the dishes for like 20 to 30 minutes before a waiter came by to prepare the table for new customers. A waiter came by for our order after 30 minutes, we got our food after another 45. By that time we were already so fed up with it that we asked for the bill straight away so we wouldn’t spend another 30 minutes waiting for the waiter to come by. Great for the variety in vegan options close by the beach but be prepared to spend at least two hours there.

One of the only restaurant with several vegan options on the menu in Oostende. Very friendly staff. We asked questions about the food (is the marganine vegan too, is the seitan steak prepared with plantbased oil,...). The “butter” that comes with the bread is vegan if you mention you want to have it vegan and they even have veganaise! Also vegan ice cream and milkshake on the menu.
