Nice vietnamese vegan restaurant

Nice quiet place with friendly staff. Some of the dishes were really tasteful but some a bit more "plain" but good anyway. I recommend it if you want some good tasty vietnamese food :)

Pros: Vegan vietnamese food, Friendly staff, Location

Excellent homemade vietnamese food

This restaurant is managed by the same person who owned Vietnam in Paris, across the street.
One big difference is the menu, as now they propose dishes which, to me, are more interesting.
There are about 5 appetizers, 5 mains, and 3 desserts.
I have tried most of them by now, and I can say that all were excellent.
I particularly enjoyed the green rice dumplings and the caramelized marmite.

My only "complaint" would be that I found the desserts a bit too expensive for what they are.
Otherwise, a very good place to enjoy vegan homemade vietnamese food.

Tasty fresh food and nice atmosphere

Very good meal, fresh, that arrived quickly and with a big smile. Menu is pretty short (3 starters, 3 meals, 3 desserts) which I like that way as it guarantees everything is fresh. I think it changes from month to month. A bit pricey maybe (7€ for starter, 14€ for meal, 18€ for starter meal) but ok for quality.

Pros: Fresh and tasty food, Nice atmosphere , Super kind waitress

Cons: (Reasonably) pricey

Retrouvailles

A charming owner and some good dishes.

I had the minestrone starter, the marmite, and the taro dessert. All were excellent and I would recommend them.

The tofu from the marmite was so delicious, it was quite the experience.

Impressive

The place is nice, I was blown away by their fake beef used in the Bò bún, it was almost disturbing, in a good way! Everything I tried was tasty and made with a lot of love, great experience overall.

Pros: Most impressive textured soy beef I tried

The former manager of "Vietnam in Paris" now prepares all her good vegan dishes in her new restaurant "Le petit pré chez Lan". FYI, his former restaurant "Vietnam In Paris" (now called Sukiya on the menu) was sold to other people in late February.

@EricMogwai! Thank you for the back story! This helped explain why there were some issues with the reviews on this page. Very glad "Le petit pré chez Lan" is surviving!

The best Vietname restaurant

During the covid / 19 period, take-away sales were set up.
The starters, dishes and desserts are all creative, full of flavor and delicious.
We are welcomed with kindness.
The decoration makes it possible to be Zen.
In short, a Vietnamese restaurant with each dish filled with good vibrations following the mindfulness meditation of the employees.
A place not to be missed!

Pros: taste, decoration, Welcom

Pros: Service, Soin, Saveurs

Simple and tasty menu

It’s a good option for Vietnamese flavors with a simple menu. The service was friendly and prompt and we tried about half of the items on the menu. The ingredients were fresh and food that was hot came to the table steaming. It was pretty easy to locate. Very casual atmosphere. Not fine dining, but perfect for a quick and delicious meal.

Delicious Vietnam

This is really exactly what you might hope if you love Vietnamese food but are vegan. The flavors are fresh and delicious, and the banh cuon are perfect—fried mushrooms and onions replacing pork. Bo buns are lighter and more flavorful than when I used to eat meat. Nems are fantastic!! And the mung bean desert was delicious. Highly, HIGHLY recommended. Worth a detour. No con whatsoever.

Update: So, initially I went with my partner in December 2019. But the very next week I couldn't stop myself from returning, with my Mom. We had the banh cuon (I ordered two servings just because), the nems. For the main course, my Mom tried the Phở which was just as perfect and excellent as the Bo bun.

I had a special, a Vietnamese "Boeuf Bourguignon"—although it was a lovely dish, beautifully plated, with a delicious side of fried rice... it was not to my liking, because the sauce had some subtle caramel notes and I usually prefer strict savoriness. I had been forewarned, but this restaurant is so excellent I wanted to give all their dishes a try! To make up for it, I took a Bo bun as take out for lunch the following day!

The first time I came, I sat closely to the exit, and I left the restaurant smelling fresh. The second time I came, I sat closest to the kitchen (because it was super cold outside), and I left with my clothes smelling like the food. For people who care about smells (e.g. HSP), this may be useful information.

Last thing I noticed: There is a meditation room in the basement, which is freely open. Some patrons go to meditate before lunch.

Delicious!

My family and I tried everything on the menu. I love Vietnamese food and was happy to eat at an all vegan Vietnamese restaurant. I would recommend all 3 appetizers, and while all the entrees were good, I would recommend the Bo Bun. It was a quiet spot, so I was able to have good conversations in this intimate setting. I would definitely go back again!

Ok food but with unexpected garnishings

I had bo bun, which was ok and especially the nems were fresh and crispy and super yummy. When I was wolfing down the salad, I saw movement among the greens — there was a tiny little worm (quite cute actually). I pointed this little guy to the owner and she was like ”oh sorry”. I asked whether the greens are washed before they come on plate and she said of course they are. We just couldn’t agree how that little worm ended up on my plate if they really were washed. Well, mistakes happen and so on, but she offered no compensation for my unpleasant garnish surprise. She claimed it’s not their fault if there is a worm in the mint bush — but in my opinion that just is not a very nice strategy to deal with client complaints. The place was totally empty on a Wednesday night, neighbouring places were packed. Perhaps there is a reason.

Lovely meal

We had the mushroom stew and pho. Both meals were packed with flavour, and the restaurant was kept nice and cool in the hot temperatures. We each had a portion of the rolls as a side that were delicious. Only €40 for us both to eat.

Pros: Fully vegan menu
