Everything was lacking sauce

As a group we tried most of the main dishes and apart from the bourginon, everything was incredibly dry and not very flavourful, including the cakes. Portions were modest but decent and service good, but the food wasn’t great.

Amazing

A really friendly waiter and waitress. The food was amazing and it's a good option to get some taste of the french cuisine, but fully vegan

Absolutely delicious

Friendly waiter, super tasteful food (we had the plat du jour and seitan roast) and good wine. Best to make a reservation and not be in a hurry, as it's very busy

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly service, in English as well

Disappointed

To be fair, this has been first time trying vegan french food.

All in all, I'm disappointed with several of the options.
The seitan felt very spongy, the taste of it was okish.
The onion soupe did contain at most 10 small onion strings and mostly tasted like vegatable broth. Nevertheless, the cheese on top was enjoyable.

I could also try the crepe which I had high hopes for. But those delicious dreams got shattered by the filling of it.

Unfortunately the atmosphere also did not meet my expectations. really dark and there was also cauliflower under the table.

I wish I could leave a better rating but I left the restaurant with mostly bad feelings about the food

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Atmosphere, Food

A great French experience

You can't book online - need to email or call, but this was easy enough. Staff were ok but not very attentive. The French onion soup starter was excellent - would go again just for this. Main was ok, but not quite what either of us had expected from the descriptions. Cafe Gourmand was a great dessert option to try everything. Had a kir royal which was absolutely delicious, did want more drinks but wasn't able to get staff attention.

Delicious French food

Loved the restaurant and staff (possibly owner?) Super friendly service. Was my first proper French dinner, being a life long veggie / now vegan I'd never tried any typical French food .. I had seitan bourginon with dauphinoise hmmmmm! I wanted to try a pud but the staff we're run off their feet and it was hard to get their attention by 9pm so we just paid and left. Next time! Yummy.

Prepare to eat a lot

If you are visiting Paris and want a vegan experience to write home about, this is the place. French onion soup, seitan bourguignon, crème brûlée… You won’t want to eat before you come.

Excellent

- bourguignon de seitan - 7.4/10 good, could have been more flavorful, and the seitan chunks were just kinda too big and could have been prepared in more texrurally interesting way
- french onion soup - 10/10
- crepe de sarrasin - 8.9/10 great

Original and tasty vegan meals

We had fresh algae salad which was very flowery, a potato saitan casserole that was very savoury, and a tasty pie with algea and nuts. All very tasty! The Cidre complemented the food very well

Pros: Original French vegan recipes , Good and healthy ingredients , Tasty Cidre

Amazing food

Did not expect to find such great vegan food in Paris.
The seitan stew was out of this world, with the potato. Desert was also delicious!

Pros: Food, Service, Price

Delicious authentic French food

So incredible to be able to eat all the French classics - but vegan versions! The bourguignon stew was amazing and the seaweed tartare.

Parfait

Amazing French vegan food

This is the kind of place where I'd happily have a taste of every dish on the menu if I could. I had the boeuf bourguignon and apple pie and it was so delicious!

French but a bit bland

Went here as a group of 4 vegans. We were really excited to try authentic vegan French food! Alas, we were a bit let down by the food.
I got the French Onion soup, as that was one of my favorite dishes in my past life. The bread and cheese topping was good, but the broth was kind of bland. Needs a stronger flavor.

My partner got the Roast Potato with Olive Tapenade, which was the best dish at the table. We kinda expected diced roasted potatoes, but the whole potato was fine.

Our friends got the Seitan Bourguignon, and the sauce was also bland. The Seitan had a sponge-like texture.

The service was quick and we had no problems with that. Just wish the food had been more flavorful.

Pros: Quick service, Prices reasonable

Cons: Bland food

Disappointing

I was so looking forward to to try french vegan food so I ordered the bourguignon de seitan and I couldn’t even eat half of it because it had a super strong cumin taste and that’s probably the one spice I dislike the most, I just can’t stand it, it tasted more like Indian food if you ask me. I don’t think a beef bourguignon should have that strong cumin taste so I do not recommend that at all. I was also not very nicely welcomed because I didn’t know they closed at 3:00pm and it was like 2:30, so I got out of there as soon as I could, before 3:00pm, so disappointed that I didn’t even wanted to have dessert.

Confused and would give one star if I could

Not sure why this place has so many good reviews.

Food came out almost straight away after ordering, which is suspicious in itself. Typically the food is cold.

Some parts were okay, like the veggies the roast comes with, but the seitan and sauces are salty, rice is plain and cold and potato entree was cold and only okay.

Some of the dish had a weird taste, mainly the seitan. My husband couldn’t eat it, I’ve never seen him feel so sick when eating something that his entire appetite is turned off.

I think the weird taste made it feel like some sort of few day old pre prepped tin food.

Had high hopes for authentic food but instead was let down with an awfully expensive half eaten plate, bad after taste and yuck feeling in our stomaches.

Pros: Staff are nice

Cons: Price, Quality, Menu options

Fantastic traditional French cuisine

Big shout out for the special we tried - seitan steak with a girolle cream sauce and ratatouille. You can get most mains with dauphinois potatoes that are perfectly cooked.

Highly recommend the cafe gourmand (you get a few small bits off the dessert menu plus an espresso).

My favourite place to eat in Paris. Looking forward to trying the bourginon next time!

French food!

Come here to try veganised versions of French food. I had my first proper French onion soup in many years and it was great!
