Nicely done - Edit
The further north you go up Manhattan it appears there are fewer and fewer vegan options. As others have noted this is a nice spot, the food is good, and the service very good. Nonetheless, I would disagree with the previous reviewer. Unless we really missed something looking over the menu, there appeared to be 4 vegan options: steel cut oats, chia pudding, avocado toast, and lentil soup. Nonetheless, the steel cut oats we ordered were very good.

Great location on the UES - Edit
A nice, mellow branch of Pain Q with great, friendly service and quality food. Good range of veg/vegan options. My go-to spot on the western edge of the UES.

Closest decent place to the Metropolitan Museum of Art - Edit
Le Pain Quotidien (LPQ) is a chain whose restaurants are always pleasant, relaxing, and feature a bunch of healthy vegan options. This branch garners an extra star in its rating owing to its location, since it is so extremely close to the Met Museum. I have met people here for lunch or breakfast on numerous occasions either before going to the Met, aftergoing to the Met, or even while taking a quick break from the Met before returning back to the museum.
Read moreThis is the best bet by far if you seek a waiter-served, sit-down, relaxed restaurant with decent vegan food offerings in the immediate vicinity of the Met. To be sure, Beyond Sushi on Third Avenue and 81st is far better. However, be careful not to overestimate your stamina: many people become mesmerized at the Met, and thus they don't pull themselves away from the artworks until they are starved and exhausted. As a result, even a few extra avenues of walking might be a task in such a state. For this reason, this branch of LPQ might be your best bet in such situations (though if this branch is packed, you might need to try to drag yourself to Beyond Sushi or to another not-too distant branch of LPQ).

Pros: Vegan items clearly marked., No competition in immediate vicinity.
Cons: Would be nice if it had more vegan offerings.
