Special find - Edit
We are a family of vegan (parents) and vegetarians (kids) and what a wonderful find this place is! We booked to stay one night in July, in their family room, en route to southern Spain. We all loved it so much that we changed our plans for returning home and booked to stay for two nights! JULY STAY: we arrived after a long drive from the UK to a very warm welcome by John, who offered us all a drink outside on the terrace. John is a great host and was very happy to tell us a bit about the fascinating history of the house, parts of which are 500 years old. We had pre-booked dinner, a 3-course vegan meal. We had courgette soup, using courgettes from their garden, a vegan moussaka for us and a bean, ricotta & spinach pasta for the boys, followed by a vegan berry cobbler for us and cheesecake and ice cream for the boys. Also included were drinks, (juice and a half litre of wine for each of us) fresh bread and a delicious salad. We were all thrilled with our meal, especially after such an early start and a long day. The next morning, we had time to chill a bit, have a dip in the pool and a wander before heading off to Spain. AUGUST STAY: Another great welcome from John greeted us, he brought drinks and snacks for us all to enjoy on the terrace. Again, we’d booked dinner, and we had all been so excited about this on the journey north. We ate tomato soup, made from their own tomatoes, savoury pancakes, followed by chocolate surprise, as well as bread and another wonderful salad. The breakfasts are also super delicious here, and our 9 yo could hardly contain his excitement at being back. We had fruit, fresh bread, home made jams, cereal, vegan yogurts, juice and the boys had pastries. It really filled you up until lunchtime! We had a relaxed day, the boys went in the pool in the morning, they played with and fed the cats, we played table tennis in the yoga dome and had a lovely explore through the little wood at the back, picking blackberries as we went. Dinner for our last night was curry and we enjoyed home made onion bhajis, vege curry with rice, fruit crumble & cream as well as poppadoms and drinks. The boys had requested pasta so they had vege meatballs and pasta, which they loved. We were all very sad to leave the next morning, and had a long day ahead of us driving home to the UK. But the breakfast set us up for the day and we are pleased to have found this place and intend to stay next year on our drive to/from Spain!

Amazing experience! - Edit
Stayed here as part of our roadtrip through the south of France. It was such an amazing experience to stay in old manor with so much history in a beautiful region. We loved walking around the house, as well as the estate and meeting the rescue sheep and cats. There are so many beautiful places to sit and take in the surroundings. My favourite part of staying here was the beautiful breakfast provided in the morning, the homemade muesli and pate was beautiful, the freshly cut fruit, yogurt and vegan cheese, plus on top of this we got a cooked breakfast which was so nice! I highly recommend this place!

John en Keith are Le Logis - Edit
Delicious vegan breakfast and dinners, served by very kind hosts at a wonderful place in the Bordeaux arena. We rented a B&B: a very large and fantastic room with a very good breakfast, continental or cooked, whatever you want. If you are in this area, we recommand you Le Logis. Not far from Bordeaux, not far from the coast.

Vegan paradise in rural France - Edit
Les Logis de Quatre Puits is a beautiful place, located in a rural part of Nouvelle-Aquitaine but not too far away from Bordeaux and other very interesting cities and villages to visit. There’s plenty to discover in the surroundings.
Read moreThe house and rooms at Les Logis de Quatre Puits are spacious and clean with all the needed accommodations in place. The gardens and outside spaces are amazing, there are places to sit and relax, a swimming pool, a yoga dome, swingsets for children,… you can even go for a stroll around the property and find some herbs, flowers and local wildlife.
France isn’t the most accommodating country for vegans or vegetarians and that’s where the hosts John and Keith, come in! They have both been vegetarians for a long time and are excellent cooks! Breakfast, both cooked and regular, with both vegetarian and vegan options are standard for all guests, and is a perfect kickstarter for your day. But what stands out most are the evening meals. Every day we were served a fully vegan three course meal, including vegan wine and every dish was amazing.
They are the most friendly and open hosts! We can’t wait to go back there!
Pros: Amazing hosts, Vegan cuisine, Beautiful place
Cons: None

Fantastic vegetarian b&b - Edit
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Qutre Puits. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived at this lovely old Manor House. John and Keith are charming hosts, and the evening meals are both delicious and amazing value for money, as are the breakfasts. The house, grounds and menagerie of rescue animals are all charming. Highly recommended!

So magical, it was truly difficult to leave! - Edit
We have been lucky enough to do a lot of traveling and have stayed at a wide range of places - but Le Quatre Puits truly stands apart. It is such an authentically beautiful property with so many thoughtful little touches all throughout. My husband, I, and are three children stayed in a family room, with a spacious room with a double bed, bathroom and separate bedroom with 3 single beds in it for the children. We felt like we had a good amount of privacy but also the opportunity to socialize with the other lovely people staying on the property, which we so enjoyed. We are all vegan and loved every full breakfast each morning, and we also ate some incredible vegan dinners there every night - sometimes in the dining hall, sometimes outside, under the gorgeous trees. Fantastic food, lovely desserts, free-flowing wine, juices, the works.
Read moreJohn and Keith were excellent hosts - not only did they make our stay truly excellent, they also went above and beyond to help us with directions, information, suggestions, book a great horseback outing. John even set up a breakfast table for us when we had to leave crazy early on our last morning - quite thoughtful.
The kids loved the saltwater pool, and we loved all the spots to curl up and read in the lovely gardens and walk down to the pond or borrow bikes and ride down. Can't speak more highly of this place, truly magical - we will definitely be heading back!
Pros: Beautiful grounds, Excellent vegan food, Peaceful environment

Wonderful and peaceful time - Edit
My husband, five year old son and I had a great time this past April (2014). We stayed in one of their gites for a week, which was amazingly spacious, clean, and well decorated. It has a full kitchen, which allowed us to cook our meals. However, do not pass up dinner with the hosts! It was a wonderful meal - Keith is a great chief! There was a large grass field to run around and play soccer on, as well as many places, including a river to hike down to. It is perfectly located in the middle of the Bordeaux region. There is plenty to do within driving distance. John and Keith made our trip to France even more memorable.

Perfect relaxing holiday - Edit
I had a lovely week's holiday here with my family in August 2012 (ages 27-60). Some of us arrived by train, having flown to Bordeaux, and we arranged a collection by the owners from Coutras station. My Dad came with his car and whilst it's possible to have a good holiday without a car because there's plenty to do onsite, a car is definitely a help for seeing the sights in the area.
Read moreThe b&b rooms are good quality and spacious - as is the rest of the house, which has elegant manor house decor as well as unique theatrical touches from the owners. The grounds are extensive, and the garden areas around the house are pretty and well maintained. The lovely outdoor swimming pool was a favourite spot for us, and a real selling point. We also enjoyed borrowing bikes and cycling to the local lake (10 mins by bike, 30 mins by foot), frisbee, table tennis, and meeting Buster the gorgeous and friendly resident Billy goat.
Breakfasts were great - plenty of variety for vegans including fresh fruit, museli, and various cooked options. The evening meals were fabulous - creative, tasty and varied vegan food and good company from Keith and John, the friendly and helpful hosts, as well as other guests.
They offer free wifi and a wonderful library of books to read on your stay, and other facilities include a large equipped kitchen for b&b guests to use, and a lounge with a TV, DVDs and an honesty fridge of refreshments.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend a holiday here, and would suggest liking their page on Facebook too. I will definitely be back.
