Probably the best Seitan I've ever had - Edit
Unfortunately (but good for the owners) the restaurant was completely booked. But they were nice enough to let me order as take out. Had the "Le Barbeque 2.0". A platter with two huge Seitan skewers, fried Potatoes and a Salad. This all came with a barbeque sauce und vegan mayo.
Read moreFirst off the Skewers. This was, as the title of the review spoiled", the best Seitan I have ever tasted. It somehow had just the right texture. Juicy, chewy and a bit crisp outside here and there. Paired amazingly well with the barbeque sauce.
The Potatoes were already really good by themselves. But if you dunk them in the mayo and you get a umami harmony swirling in your mouth where you better not count the calories.
Lastly the salad was unfortunately not that special. It was also not much. Generally speaking not many vegetables in this dish. So I think to perfect it they should just add some roasted veggies. For that and for the proud price of 21€ I to deducted one star.
Definitely try this one but don't be like me and make sure you have a reservation.

J'ai eu la chance d'avoir une amie qui m'a accueillie au Pays Basque il y a quelques semaines pour que je puisse découvrir l'offre végétale de la région. On a évidemment commencé par Le Jardin parce qu'il n'y a rien de plus important que de soutenir les commerces engagés qui mettent en avant le vegan !
Read moreEn entrée j'ai choisi les tomates mozza parce que ça fait des années que je n'ai pas pris une entrée de ce type au restaurant (logique quand on mange plus de fromage ahah) et c'était absolument délicieux!
Pour le plat, mon amie a pris le plat du jour, une tomate farcie aux pst avec un risotto de sarrasin et moi j'ai opté pour les brochettes de seitan maison (j'adore le seitan) avec les pommes de terre grenaille et la petite salade
On s'est régalé, c'était copieux, frais et surtout on sent que c'est cuisiné avec amour, d'ailleurs l'accueil est aussi chaleureux que les plats !
On m'a conseillé les desserts, mais on avait prévu de tester d'autres adresses alors on a gardé un peu de place, j'y retournerais avec grand plaisir en tout cas !

Das Restaurant ist super schön eingerichtet. Zusammengewürfelte bunte Tische und Stühle - das mag ich.

Le Jardin offers high-quality home cooking in a relaxed, vintage setting. The owners are very friendly and happy to discuss their recipes. We had a homemade tomato and mozzarella starter (excellent), delicious seitan skewers, and a very good crème brûlée for dessert. Even though the portions aren't huge, I recommend the experience!

The staff gave us a very warm welcome, and the place has a cozy, family like atmosphere. We tried two main dishes: a seitan BBQ plate and a polenta plate with mushroom sauce. the flavors were delicious. If you’re ever in Biarritz, this is definitely a place to visit.

After the chef described the plate of the week, we both ordered that. It was freshly prepared, delicious, creative, and beautiful. We both ordered the full meal service, which allowed one of us to order the starter (we got the hummus) and one of us to order the dessert (we had the lime pie). The portions of hummus and pie were large, and we were glad to be sharing them. Highly recommend this place!!
