Favorite Paris & late night spot - Edit

Living close by, I crave coming in for late dinner after a busy day. The menu is changing often, I love their tapas (seaweed, patatas, incredible pâté imitations..., and their mains are most often to die for! I love the way they handle the vegetables, slow cooked or roasted. The atmosphere is casual, very friendly and often funny. Feeling lucky being almost their neighbor.

Pros: vegan only, warm atmosphere, friendly owner and st

C'est à tomber! - Edit

This was a favorite of ours on a recent trip to Paris. On our first visit I think we were greeted by an owner (a kind mustachioed gentleman) who offered to explain the menu and that it's vegan - no need, I came for the charcuterie and fromage plate!

I loved that the food is made in-house and the place had a great vibe. As a couple, for us this was a cozy and kind of romantic spot for a late dinner, but we also saw groups of friends gathering for drinks and dessert.

In addition to the charcuterie and fromage plate, we also had the "steak" and several desserts. Everything was amazing! My husband is omni and he really loved everything we tried, especially the tarte au citron.

One thing, on both visits (just a few days apart) the credit card machine was broken. The wait staff was super apologetic and the barman was very sweet and entertained me while my husband ran to get cash. Not a big deal, I'm just not in the habit of carrying much cash.

Overall, everything was amazing. The food, the wine, and the service... what a perfect place to close out the night.

Pros: Friendly atmosphere, Awesome food, drinks, and desserts, All vegan!

My strong favorite in Paris - Edit

This place is definitely my favorite in Paris. It has the spirit of a casual (and cool) French brasserie, makes its own cheese and faux-meat tapas such as chorizo, rillettes, pâté... Their meals are all excellent as well as their desserts. You can bring omnivores here and I'm sure they will appreciate. You must absolutely visit it and try their cheese and tapas.

On the whole, prices are fair, portions are generous and the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere of the place is also nice!

Pros: homemade, vegan cheese and French classics, excellent food, very friendly staff, casual brasserie spirit

Excellent surprise. Very nice bar and restaurant ! - Edit

Excellent surprise. Very nice bar and restaurant.
Special mention for Olivier, the owner, who is particularly kind and passionated by his products. The waiter is very kind too.
Tapas and appetizer from 4€. Dishes from 9€ to 15 €.
Houmous, vegan rillettes, vegan cheeze and vegan delicatessen. All home made. It's delicious.
Soft and vegan drinks, organic alcohol, vegan wine.
Besides tapas there are real dishes and desserts like chocolate mousse, fruit pie, cakes.
Excellent ambience. Small terrace on the pavement.
The restaurant is close to the beautiful Parc des Buttes-Chaumont entrance. A promenade is great before or after meal.
Restaurant closed on mondays and opened all the other days from 9:00 am to 01:30 am. Amazing opening hours for a vegetarian restaurant.
They accept dogs.

A real Vegan restaurant in Paris - Edit

We were looking for a real Vegan restaurant in Paris. There are couple of fast food, some Indian/Lebanese restaurants that offer Vegan food but very few restaurant with a full Vegan menu like the one at Le Faitout.

We crossed Paris to go to this restaurant and it was wealthy. We started with a selection of vegetal cheeses. There were 6 or 7 different cheeses and each of them was interesting and good. We continued with dumplings
and a dhal both of this main course were great.
We were full so we didn't have the opportunity to test the dessert, but we will be back to test them for sure.

Apparently there is a jazz soiree every Thursday. So you can enjoy music with good food and beer.

Pros: Food was excellent, Staff was super friendly, Menu is varied, which is rare for Vegan dishes

Cons: A bit offset

It was so good I came back again 3 days later! - Edit

Wow, what a nice place to eat! Don't let the bar deco fool you: this is a great place to eat delicious food prepared with love!

Among the things I tried on my two visits with friends: saitan steak and chips (lovely smokey flavour and not too heavy, and not at all rubbery like some saitan steaks), lasagne (really rich in flavour), tapas mix (came with lots of delicious fresh bread, homemade kefir, delicious craft beer, gluten-free beer.

I highly recommend it if you're in Paris :)

Pros: Tapas, Ambiance, Cadre

Another vegan place in Paris - Edit

I liked the atmosphere of the place, went there with 6 friends.

Tried the noggets and the patatas bravas, also some other dishes from my friends. Everything is enjoyable but pricey .

I guess it's the kind of restaurant where you bring non vegan people...
Good to go before/after: Buttes Chaumont Park

Pros: vegan win, atmosphere, location

Cons: pricey

bon, beau lieu, personnel avenant - Edit

Le plat (mac and chères) était moins convaincant.

Absolute Heaven - Edit

Paris is fast becoming a vegan paradise and this spot could be the creme de la creme. The soup was to die for. Bread so fresh felt like it was straight from the baker's oven. I had the veggie steak and it was absolutely dynamite. Bursting with flavor. The greens and juice could not be any more fresh. Top notch service and friendly atmosphere as well.

Pros: Taste, Uniqueness, French cuisine veganized

Cons: wait could be a lil long for some, lil pricey

Great Vegan Brunch - Edit

Visited in December 2016 for brunch on the weekend.

The brunch includes 1 hot drink and 1 fresh juice, 1 cheese platter, 1 main plate and 1 dessert plate. Everything was very good and the food had kind of a home cooked feeling. I especially enjoyed the creative home-made cheeses with very interesting flavors.
All for €22, which was a fantastic deal.

The service was nice, and the atmosphere very pleasant.
Le Faitout is not evidently vegan, it might be a good place to bring your non-vegan friends.

In summary, it's certainly worth visiting.
Moreover, if weather allows it, you can enjoy a stroll at the nearby Buttes-Chaumont park.

Pros: home made cheese, friendly service, working hours

Cons: none
