Mixed feelings

Disclaimer : not used to leave mixed reviews for veggie places
I was very excited to go to one of the last veggie place in the department. I booked prior to come.
We arrived, nobody was there. Since I had seen it in the comments, I knew the place in front was owned by the same people so we went inside to asked. The place in front (regular libanese) was fully packed. One lady told us we could go back to the coin libanais, she'll be there soon.
She joined us shortly, told us she didn't get the booking, she was sorry but her boss (who confirmed our booking) and the regular staff kitchen were off on Saturday, so she'll see what she could do...
She left us with the menus and went back to the other restaurants.
Even thought the menu is fully veggie, nothing says what's vegan. She came back, asked what we would take and we asked her what's vegan, she didn't know and told us she had to check with the chef, who is cooking at the other restaurant. So she came back later and asked us if we had made our mind. Well, we still didn't know what was vegan! Long story short, we finnaly ordered an hour after we had arrived, when she told us what was "surely" vegan (we still asked her to confirm with the kitchen). Our orders arrived, one of the dishes was something we hadn't ordered and was missing one of the things we had.
The food was very good, things we weren't used to eat and we enjoyed ourselves. Same for dessert, she didn't know what was vegan and what was not. For the Lebanese cocktails, she said they were "surely" vegan.
Other thing : since the other restaurant was packed, they moved 2 tables in our restaurant, who could order from the regular menu - __-. So we had meat eaters next to us.
The 3 things that I value most about going to veggie places are that I support a veggie place (they own the omnivorous place in front), we don't have to eat with meat eaters (we did), and people know the menu and what's vegan (she didn't).
The lady was very apologetic and we don't blame her. Who would free the staff of a restaurant (on a Saturday!) and expect the one in front to know the menu and cater for their guests?
So appart from the food, not the ideal experience for a veggie place... But I'm sure we wouldn't have had this experience if the regular staff had been there.

Pros: The food, The nice cosy place

Cons: Staff who don't know the menu, Eating next to meat eaters

I think I very much agree with you Emma. I used to go to the Comptoir Libanais very, very often with my husband, but I stopped going there because the patroness yelled at one of the employees in front of us - something I REALLY can't accept ... Then we tried Le Coin Libanais without first knowing that it was the same owners, but we quite quickly found out. Anyway, I would have prefered having some houmous, moutabal, falafels and taboulé - I didn't find the food interesting at all. I think that the patroness got the idea of opening something in the empty place in front because the other EXTREMELY popular vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the same street "Club Dinette" had announced that they would close. That was a restaurant where you had to book your table ! Those two restaurants Le Coin Libanais and Le Comptoir Libanais is more about business than anything else ...

Beautiful Lebanese restaurant

I had a lovely set meal here in this beautiful Lebanese vegetarian restaurant. It was an expensive shared meal for two (25 euro per person) called 'Nos mezzes a partager' consisting of 5 mezze side dishes, a drink, and a dessert. It was delicious, but for me, the price was too steep for the amount received.
Next time I would try one of their cheaper options such as the salad or bruscetta which range from 10 - 15 euros and have larger serving sizes.
Be aware that this vegetarian restaurant is directly opposite another Lebanese restaurant (which serves meat) owned and staffed by the same people. I accidentally walked into that one thinking it was the vegetarian one but soon realised that it wasn't after translating their menu 😅.

Pros: healthy vegan options, pretty setting, tasty

Cons: Pricey, small serving size (for mezze), no English menu

Hidden gem

For lack of vegan options in Cherbourg this vegetarian restaurant was a hidden gem. Although vegan options could have been labeled better on the menu the staff was helpful and the food was absolutely delicious.

Great food

One of the best meals I have had. Minus one star because not vegan

Cons: Not that many vegan options
