I really wanted to like this place. We ordered two different kinds of soup while escaping from the rain. Mine was a miso “ramen” soup. Overall, small portions and very average tasting food considering the price. I’m not sure I would go back again.

We had a lovely dinner at Le Botaniste. We enjoyed the mezze, the sushi rolls and a Full therapy. For the last one you could choose 3 different bowls. We had the Tebetan Mama, Spicy chili sin carne (which wasn't really spicy) and the Vegetable Tajine. All where really tasty and nice. For drinks we had the home made iced tea, which was really refreshing.

The staff is really lovely. Super kind and very willing to help. The restaurant has a nice ambiance.

Loved to eat here. Lovely staff and such a nice concept. Also nice prices! We took the aubergine soup and sushi as a starter and both the pasta bolo as main course. We didn’t take a dessert because we really had enough! Everything is vegan and except for the pasta, everything is gluten free! You also have the possibility to plant a tree for €2,50. We added it to our reservation. Le Botaniste is placed next to the Dille and Kamille and the building is just perfect!

They were out of all the starters when I went there in the evening. The dinner (Tajine) was rather watery and not warm enough for my taste. It's precooked food you order at the bar. But I enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly.

Nice and tasty food, the bowls are big and full of fresh vegetables. However the juices are pricey and really strong taste (due to ginger, grapefruit and turmeric )

My favorite place to have lunch in Gent. - Edit
I’m a huge fan of their mezze, as a starter or as a main dish. Usually I buy some to go as well. Delicious bowls, and yummy juices. The indoors seating is simple, and not very comfy, but calm and nicely decorated. The outdoors seating is directly on the pavement so with lots of traffic passing by depending on the hour of the day. The friendly staff is a huge plus point though. The shop is really beautiful too.

The interior of this restaurant is really beautiful. The food was tasty and really fast and the staff was really friendly as well. Really recomend checking it out, especially if you are in a hurry and want to grab something healthy to eat. 🌱

"Le Botaniste" is a vegan restaurant that is quite sophisticated and still has a somewhat bohemian atmosphere.

We chose the vegan sushi as a starter, followed by a vegetable tajine and vegan pasta bolo. Then we shared a chocolate cookie for dessert.
The place is breezy and very pretty, but the seating was a bit uncomfortable and the wait was quite long. However, it was definitely one of the more memorable restaurants we visited in Belgium because of its stylish concept.

My happy place in Ghent for a belly-warming meal and a soul infusion. Le Botaniste is wonderfully unique, pleasing without a big price tag. I also love the patio seating, and all the lovely things and people that makes Belgium so cool! :)

This being one of the best rated restaurant in the city I went in expecting great things and left feeling a bit disappointed. It didn't feel restaurant worthy.
Read moreCrackers served with the dips seemed store bought and the sushi fell apart before it arrived to our table. Best starter definitely was the balls with tzatziki as they were quite tasty.
As for the bowls, they were okay. The curry was the best out of three but the 'kimchi' that was served with it was just a slightly red and slightly spicy sauerkraut. The salad bowl had julienned carrots which weren't cut properly and the red cabbage was dressed a bit too sour for my taste. It all just felt very underwhelming.
Service was friendly although the concept is a bit confusing. Some things we had to take ourselves and others were brought to our table and I had to go up to the bar to order.
Seating wasn't too comfortable and you have to walk past a toilet with no door in front of the sink area to get to your table.
Overall it felt like they didn't just put much effort in and it could have been so much better than it was.

De bediening was zeer vriendelijk, daar valt niets over te klagen.
Read moreEr was geen avocado (blijkbaar een bekend probleem wanneer je de andere reviews leest), wat jammer was, de zeewier spread met toast was veel te zout, precies recht uit de zee.
De tajine was smaakloos, de "pikante" saus was vrijwel nergens te bekennen...
Jammer... En niet om te janken, maar tajine wordt normaal geserveerd met couscous en niet met quinoa..
Toen het meisje die de bediening deed vroeg of alles lekker was.. heb ik uit reflex "ja" gezegd... Bij deze mijn excuses voor mijn oneerlijkheid..
Dit alles voor een slordige 20 euro, voor 1 persoon.. neen... Te veel geld voor wat geserveerd werd.. nogmaals, goeie bediening wel, daar lag het zeker niet aan.

All vegan, decent variety on the menu, some servings were a bit small or large but of stuff you normally wouldn't eat a lot of (like one dish is various hummus-like spreads with these neat crackers, it had a lot of spreads) but also several dishes of normal sizes, and everything we had was yummy.
