Hidden gem!

We stumbled upon this place because it had very high ratings on Google Maps. It's set in an alley behind the main road (operated by the attached guesthouse owner) and we were the only customers there so we were slightly nervous, but it was such a hidden gem.
The owner was so sweet and friendly and when he heard we didn't want egg or fish sauce, he asked if we were vegan and then proudly and enthusiastically stated the substitutes he had to cook for us.
We had the basil fried rice and pad see ew, both with tofu, and they were delicious and so fresh (they cook everything on the spot) - the basil fried rice in particular had such a great flavor.
The other cook even came up to us at the end and asked if we wanted vegan spring rolls - we were really charmed by how friendly they were.
Definitely recommend - also to get away from the touristy spots on the main road!
