Super rude and unfriendly!

We walked up to eat at this establishment and asked if they had seating for four, we were ‘greeted’ by a young lady who sneered and told us ‘we will talk to you outside!’ as she shooed us out of the open door we walked into. Her associate, while sweeping the floor rolled her eyes and walked confrontationally up behind the first girl who was walking aggressively toward us as though we had committed a crime by walking into the open door. She informed us that they were closed and I replied that their hours were posted till 9pm on Happy Cow. She explained with great irritation that that is wrong and that they cannot serve us. I advised they should revise their hours on Happy Cow and we began to walk away at which point the second girl spun around and said loudly, “I hate people!”. My wife stopped in her tracks, turned to the doorway and said “Excuse me?!” Needless to say I would say this is the worst encounter we’ve experienced in Asheville and would tell you to consider other vegan options. We were initially excited to see something with vegan options and so close to our hotel. Go to Plant; much nicer people and probably the best vegan food I’ve ever had! That was where we ate the evening before. Be sure to make reservations there.

Vegan Pumpkin cheesecake 🎃

A great place full of vegan options offering carry out. Must haves: jalapeño fries W/ chipotle ranch. That chipotle ranch is the best vegan sauce I’ve ever tasted - reminds me hibachi yum yum sauce but vegan. Another must have: the pumpkin cheesecake. Also tried the tempeh reuben and the harmony bowl.

Pros: A ton of vegan options , Chipotle ranch sauce is a pro on its own , Friendly staff

Great brunch! Even better dinner and dessert!!

I’ve eaten here for brunch on the weekends and really enjoyed it. I love the tofu scramble plate and they have vegan cinnamon buns with a delicious orange peel icing!

The dinner menu is even better!! I recommend the Thai Curry. And definitely check out their desserts and specials!!

Update: this has become my favorite restaurant since moving to Asheville! I love being able to grab a healthy, delicious meal with local ingredients (when possible) and their vegan cheesecake is my weakness 😍😍

Pros: Vegan brunch & desserts, Wall Street is adorable , Gluten-free options

Love it

We ate here after visiting Biltmore back in June. The food was great. Our kids created a pizza, and my husband and I both had rice bowls that came with vegetables, sauce and either tofu or tempura. We also had the jalapeno fries. It was absolutely delicious.

Delicious enough for the non-vegans!

The whole menu is clearly marked with what is vegan and gluten free - and nearly everything is both! Half of our party is non vegan and they loved everything so much we went back the next day! We tried juices, appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts and it was just so amazing!

Pros: Everything vegan , Lots of gluten free , Menu clearly marked

Cons: Expensive , Closed Tuesday

Awesome

Some of the best vegan takeout we’ve had. We picked up lunch and drive to supercharger to eat(15 minute drive) and the food was still piping hot and oh so delicious!!

Dare I say...

Dare I say this is the best vegan takeout I’ve ever had??? Everyone was so nice, their menu is perfectly crafted, and my food and drinks were out of this world. I LOVE a good french fry and I would truthfully eat their jalapeño onion fries as my last ever meal. Literally everything was so good and I can’t wait to come back xoxo

Pros: Lots of vegan options

LOVE!

Laughing Seed is one of my favorite places! I wish they would just go fully vegan menu. Everything I’ve ordered there has been delicious and they probably have my favorite cocktails/mocktails

Solid Vegetarian Restaurant

Tried to get into Plant on a Friday night - no luck but the kind folks at Laughing Seed managed to take us!
Waitress was knowledgeable and food on service.
We ordered a variety of dishes and enjoyed most of them.

Vegan Cheese Plate - tasty but needs more cheese!
Gyoza - small and tasty but to be honest trader joes veg gyoza might be better!
French onion soup(for the non vegan) - they won’t do it vegan because of Swiss cheese
Jalapeno Fries - tasty with vegan ranch
Truffle mac n cheese - good truffle flavour but needs more creaminess. It was good but we have had better
Farmers Pie - mushroom ragout sort of Shepard’s Pie which was the best dish of the night! Very good!
Salad - was massive and delicious

One thing irritated me... we were not offered dessert! I understand restaurant closes at 10pm but the waitress should have at least mentioned this and maybe offered it to go... this shouldn’t put you off at all it’s just my opinion.

Great cocktails and beer!

This is a great option in the Asheville area and I would highly recommend!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Bar, Great location

Cons: Not 100% vegan

My favorite!

This was my favorite place while visiting Asheville! It's in a great location and is a great space with a large dining area, outdoor seating, and nice bar area. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower tacos with jalapeno fries. AMAZING! It was perfectly flavored and the cauliflower was nice and lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Laughing seed is billed as a vegetarian restaurant but most of the things on the menu were vegan (with lots of gluten free options). There were maybe 2 things that could not be made vegan. They also had these giant cookies from a local bakery for sale (I got the chocolate orange almond one). Service was some of the best I've ever received. If there is anything on the con side it's that there is no parking on the street directly in front of the restaurant.

Pros: Amazing food, Great space, Excellent service

Cons: no parking directly out front, but plenty nearby

Delicious!

We had the gyoza to start. Really good! The sauce it comes with has a kick, so beware if you don’t like spicy.
I had the Harmony Bowl with tofu. I’m glad I ordered a small because it was huge! The ginger dressing it comes with is delicious!
My husband had the enchiladas. He really liked them. It comes with a “cheese” sauce on top. It was pretty tasty. I think it might be made with vegetables and not cashews.
We tried the coconut lime cheesecake. It was a lot more dense than traditional cheesecake, but it had good flavor.
Would definitely eat there again!

The parking is a concern. There are a couple of garages within walking distance. We got lucky and found a spot in front. It’s a one way street and you have to parallel park. And there are meters, but they accept credit cards so don’t worry if you don’t have change.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Parking is difficult

Another perfect visit

Met up with friends for a casual noshing of pre-dinner bites. We got juices, pakoras, and fries. All were very good and hit the spot. Our waitress was so sweet, too. Love this place!

Recommend reservations to make the process easier, though, at 4.30 on a Friday, there were seats to spare.

Excellent great stop

Started a vegan road trip from FL stopped in and have to say great food!! My wife had the the raw manicotti and it was phenomenal, I went with the black bean burger and it was delicious as well. Service was ok seemed as though short staffed but we weren’t in a hurry so no biggie.

Pros: Lots of options

What vegans eat in NC

Another great vegan option restaurant in Ashville. Tucked inside the downtown area on Wall St, I would suggest parking in the garage on Otis St because trying to find a parking spot on the street is like looking for a needle in a haystack. The patio area is small but very nice. Food was reasonably priced and the portion sizes were great. Drinks (alcoholic)were good but could have been watered down less. All in all a very good experience. My only suggestion would be to our waiter: pay closer attention to what your patrons have ordered so they don't have to remind you when they haven't received part of their order.

Pros: Great food, reasonable prices, good portions

Cons: Less than attentive servers

Delicious

All vegetarian, and most dishes are or can be made vegan. We had the gyoza, buffalo cauliflower tacos, jalapeno red onion fries, enchiladas, Thai green curry, and carrot cake, and everything was delicious.

Pros: Delicious

Cons: Very limited parking, Somewhat expensive
