Friendly 100% vegan in a not so vegan place - Edit
Despite being located in a very non vegan market, Las Niñas Veganas stands as an activist vegan haven in their stand in Cádiz's food market.
Read moreVery low prices, local tapas and helpful friendly demeanour. They even recommended us other vegan places in Cadiz!
I specially loved their nachos and their fried mushrooms with aioli.

Amazing vegan food in the heart of Cadiz! - Edit
Incredibly tasty food offered by these friendly ladies. It really has been one of the best vegan food I've ever tried (I had the vegan cheese croquetas, Gazpacho & cauliflower tempura, all food offered is gluten-free). The marketplace is a cool vivid spot to have some food. I absolutely recommend you try the tapas from the niñas veganas! 💖

Vegan tapas at a not so vegan market - Edit
Happy to see that at this traditional market are also vegan options available. Looks like it still has to do some work to convince the customers of the market according to a sign on the table: "por favor respeta que es un puesto vegano. Prueba las verduras que no matan! ☺️"

Great for a snack - Edit
We were at the market after lunch so we felt like snacking and the loaded nachos were so good! Be aware that around 3 in the afternoon a lot of items on the menu are not available anymore. Super nice service 🙂

OK for a snack - Edit
First off, we only had the loaded nachos here, so the review is very limited to that experience.
Read moreWhile the guacamole and vegan cheddar were tasty, the mock meat/chili con carne sauce could have been spiced a little more for our taste. It was a little bland and did not have much of the spices typical for mexican or tex mex food. 4€ is not particularly cheap for what is a small portion size in this part of the country. We were still happy to find this and wished we had the time to taste more of their dishes.

Best nachos! - Edit
After 3 days of eating tomatoes and tomato soup I was so happy to come across this little stall in the Mercado. Had the nachos and the pincho. The nachos were amazing!! There was some kind of vegan meat in it which was so good. The pincho came with a type of squash, eggplant and tofu. Loved both dishes!! ✨✨

Lovely helpful staff, who recommended in English and explained the dishes. Food amazing, everything was fantastic. Thank you so much, it was an asset to our trip to Cadiz to be able to eat vegan (we usually just don't eat out).

Tradition overruling - Edit
Pretty much the only spot in the province that is both vegan and gluten-free. The atmosphere is as traditional as it gets, as it is located in the midst of the city's fresh produce market, which doubles as a 'tapas' area. This also means you'll be surrounded by people gulping down their favourite animal products... On the bright side, it's really handy to have a vegan place right there, and it deserves some extra points just for that. The flavours and inspiration are in keeping with the location, nothing fancy or junkish. Please get there early (at least in the weekends).

Good tapas - Edit
Traditional tapas veganized. I enjoyed the potato salad (a generous serving), the spinach balls and especially the empanadilla (just one, accompanied by lettuce with dressing). The gazpacho (drink, not soup) was good too. Three tapas to myself was more food than I really needed.

Fun Vegan Market Stand - Edit
It was so nice having a completely vegan stall at Cádiz's food hall. They offered vegan versions of local favorites as well as tried-and-true options. My husband and I each ordered a cup of Salmorejo and then split an order of Nachos. I also ordered the Tinto de Verano con Limon to drink. Everything was delicious!

All vegan, in the central market. - Edit
Great that it’s in the central market and vegan as it’s mostly meat and fish, so it allows vegans to have the touristy experience of eating there. Loads of options I had the nachos which came with potato cheese, very nice. I’m disappointed because I went close to closing and I didn’t get the empanada which looks amazing: leek, tomato, mushroom. Run by a really nice woman.
