Authentic Mexican Comfort Food in Beijing (With Tons of Vegan Options!) 🌱 - Edit
I honestly can’t believe a place like this exists in China — and not only does it exist, it’s amazing. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, with shockingly authentic Mexican flavors. After traveling around China for two weeks and eating only Chinese food, this meal felt like heaven.
Read moreThe food tasted exactly like a proper Mexican restaurant, with all the right spices, perfect salt levels and bold, satisfying flavors. What really impressed me was how many legit vegan options they offer — not just a couple of sad substitutions. They have vegan sauces that replace the non-vegan counterparts, including vegan crema instead of sour cream and even vegan cheese.
We were starving after spending the entire day at the Great Wall without eating much, so we went all out and ordered what felt like half the menu. This spot is connected to Slowboat and you can order from either menu, which is such a great bonus.
We started with chips and salsa with guacamole, then fries, followed by several entrées. You have to try the burrito, the torta, and the bean burger from Slowboat — we genuinely could not choose a favorite because all three were equally incredible. Each one was a solid 10/10.
Every bite was packed with flavor and comfort. It truly felt like eating at an authentic Mexican restaurant, which is wild considering we were in Beijing. This is an absolute must-try — do not miss this place if you’re in the city.
