Nice food

Few vegan options on the menu, starters, tapas & mains.
Had the vegan nachos & vegan tacos very nice

Cons: Only vegan desserts were sorbets

Tasty food and bigger menu

Food is great and they have added more actual vegan options, I.e. Not just omni meals with cheese etc removed. If they could provide vegan sour cream I would have given 5 stars. Confusingly, they use 'plant based' and vegan on the menu but the server clarified that PB means there could be cross contamination from non-vegan products. This applied to fried foods, eg chips, and is helpful as most restaurants don't even consider this an issue.

Pros: Delicious food, More genuinely vegan options added

Cons: Don't use separate friers for chips etc, Surely they could get hold of vegan sour cream!

Good dessert but still limited menu

The menu is quite clear to know which one is veggie, vegan or gluten free. I felt so happy because of their friendly and nice service. I loved the vegan dessert but the main dish was not my taste. Additionally, vegan menu is limited, just 2 or 3 options.

Pros: Clearly separated vegan menu and friendly service

Cons: Noisy and crowded. Still limited vegan menu

Good food, but noisy place

The staff was friendly and they have a separate menu with vegan and vegetarian options (also gluten free). But i found the place too noisy for my liking. The food was good, i had lunch here and ordered a beetroot burrito filled with rice and jackfruit. If you like cocktails, they serve many different cocktails and also non alcoholic ones.

Pros: Vegan/vegetarian menu, Friendly staff, Cocktails

Cons: Atmosphere

cosmopolitan cocktails

This is a great place to chill and drink a delicious cocktail, the decor of the bar area and restaurant are contemporary and the buy one get one free cocktail deals are so tempting. It gets very popular so booking for meals is recommended and you might have to wait for a seat in the bar area on a weekend, they have a few seats to sit out on the bustling Grey Street but this isn't something I've yet had the pleasure of sampling.

I love the fact they have a separate menu dedicated to veggie and vegan food, though the South American style of the food doesn't really suit my particular pallet so I personally would prefer to eat in one of the city's other happy cow listings.

Pros: Separate veggie and vegan menu, Wonderful cocktails, Nice interior

Cons: Serves a lot of meat dishes

Don't go for tapas at the bar

I heard such good things about Las Iguanas being vegan friendly but it seems this only extends to if you're actually having a sit down meal. I went with a couple friends for some tapas and drinks in the bar area only to be told that nothing on the menu was customisable. All the vegetarian options had cheese on them so this meant I didn't end up having anything to eat at all. Not too sure why they weren't able to take the cheese off unless it not made on site or something. Either way it was very disappointing. And as if to make it worse, my friend that ordered a vegetarian tortilla was served chicken by mistake and she didn't realise until she bit into it!

I'm sure(/hope) it was just a one time thing and they are more accommodating because I've not heard anything else having an as negative experience as I did. But it's out me off trying it again in the future.

Lacking flavour

I've been to Las Iguanas many times mainly because it has its very own vegi/vegan menu and because there is always a great atmosphere here whether you are dining or just enjoying the excellent drinks on offer especially the cocktails. The staff and service is always 'spot on' too. However, although they have a good food selection, the food just lacks a little flavour for me. However, I am willing to persevere and hopefully they can change my mind.

Pros: Vegi/Vegan Menu, Great Atmosphere, Staff

Cons: Bland food, Not many vegan options

Love it

I love Las Iguanas - it's a reliable option to eat with my omni family and I love that they have separate vegan, vegetarian and gf menus. The vegan options are clearly marked as well as options that can easily be veganised.

Happy hour and lunch menu are both great - really cheap food and lovely beetroot burgers. It's busy at all times of day with a great atmosphere.

Pros: Great atmosphere, Clear separate menu, Great deals at lunch and happy hour

Cons: Serves meat, Can be rushed in the evenings, Reserve for the weekend in advance!

Great Brand

Probably my favourite of the national restaurant brands. Quite up market and trendy but not pretentious. This place is energetic and full of life when it's busy. Weekends are absolutely banging hot. It's a pleasure to be part of it. They have a separate vegetarian menu with great vegan choice. Lots of spices and unusual combinations. You can even make your own guacamole. Very strong South American influences including traditional Brazilian and Mexican dishes. Prices are OK and even better when you can get 2 for 1 cocktails at certain times during the night and online voucher codes. The Caipirinhas are a treat. Go and try.

Pros: good food, nice premises, great cocktails

Cons: rushed service at times, can get very busy, Timed seating reservations at wknds
