Small town gem!

**Happy cow does not allow a 5 star review for a restaurant that is not fully vegan/vegetarian, but this place deserves 5 stars**
A phenomenal find! We were passing through Hays en route to Denver and wanted to sit down somewhere instead of getting fast food. Stumbled upon this place on HappyCow and decided to give it a try. Could not have been more pleased with the experience. It's not vegan restaurant, but the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they showed me several menu items that can be made vegan. I went with the Gallo Pinto, and it was truly delicious. Their guac is also really good, and they make a great margarita. Will definitely plan to return next time we pass through Hays!

Pros: Vegan options (upon request), Locally owned and very friendly service, Tasty margaritas

Cons: A little bit off the beaten path (but worth it)

Favorite restaurant in Hays

I love their lentil soup (unfortunately seasonal or I'd get it every time.) and the pupusas without cheese. The service is quick and their staff is always very friendly. They also have a great selection of yummy cocktails. They sometimes have vegan specials so be sure to check their Facebook page!

Pros: Lots of options, Staff is happy to accommodate and answer questions

Cons: Would love to see vegan cheese added to the menu
