Amazing Cause and Food

We had a great dinner with the black bean burger and mediterranen salad. The rose lemonade was so good!! Would come back again to support the cause.

Pros: All vegan, Great prices, Fresh and healthy

Wow, cute little bodega!

I walked in here for the first time and was overwhelmed by beautiful plants, cute ‘Black girl magic’ merch and friendly workers. They didn’t have a lot of vegan salads (they run out quickly) but they were super helpful and my goodness, you just can’t beat the prices! I got granola and vegan yogurt that would have cost at least $9 at Whole Foods for $3! I’m so excited that I found this place.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Super inexpensive , Cute environment and helpful staff

Cons: Small, They run out of vegan salads quickly

Whoops

This bodega is achieving their mission of sharing organic, vegan foods with everyone at a reasonable price. If you are homeless, the price will be reasonable for you, too. The juices are spectacular, organic and only $5, plus you get $1 back when you return the glass container. Other juice markets of similar quality charge $12 for their juices. They serve an amazing organic, hot vegan lunch daily for $5. No kidding. If you want to eat healthy, you can. There are raw foods and vegan desserts in the fridge packaged to-go (made by other suppliers) and Venus let me know that sometime there is milk cheese in some of the pre-packaged offerings so ask about the to-gos if there is any question. They are starting comedy and music nights. They have crystals and clothing and bath too. Small selection - just like a bodega does - but all organic and shockingly affordable for everyone.

*** UPDATE - went back to the Bodega after three months of quarantine (but while Los Angeles’s virus numbers are surging) and unfortunately, the Bodega was non-COVID compliant; all staff was unmasked serving hot plates, stocking and ringing up. The juices also are now being served in plastic containers (hopefully a temporary COVID change?) and they’re carrying a to-go collagen powder product, so sadly, the Bodega isn’t vegetarian anymore.
