Impressive execution of interesting recipes

Came here for a fancy night out and had to wait for a while despite our reservation because the table was still occupied. The menu reads somewhat mysteriously, which is great if you're up for a surprise!
The risotto looked more impressive than it tasted (a little oversalted and otherwise barely spiced), but the rest tasted great. The Igelstachelbart was incredibly close to the real thing!
The portions are very small, so you can combine many different things, but that also makes it quite an expensive experience.

Pros: Great service

Cons: Long wait, Slightly overpriced

10/10 flawless fine dining experience

Delicious, flavourful dishes, an interesting menu and attentive and helpful staff. Also the interior was very cool. What's not to love? Both me and my friend really enjoyed eating here. Especially their pasta dishes were top notch.

Vegan fine dining

Unique flavors and dishes. Price point a little high but worth it. Sit outside and eat next to the oldest church in Vienna.

Yum

Very nice sitting outside next to the oldest church in Vienna - I had the hummus & eggplant on focaccia bread which was extremely good! The Beer was also very yummy and staff were very friendly & efficient. Would love to go again & try the other dishes.

Amazing!

The food is high quality and delicious. I ordered the croquettes as my appetizer and the mushroom shawarma as my main dish. The croquettes were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The yuzo topping went well w the croquettes. The mushroom shawarma was so delicious - the mushroom was perfectly cooked and the sauce was so just perfect. Thank you to Dave for the excellent food recommendations and the excellent service. I highly recommend this place.

Tasty brunch options

Brunch was a great experience with a small, tempting menu of sweet and savoury dishes. We ordered four dishes in total and shared them. We definitely had room for more food, but we wanted to visit a few more eateries that day, so we left it at that.

We had a brioche oyster mushroom sandwich, which was a bit underwhelming. The bread was nice and fluffy, but maybe needed a bit more toasting to hold up to the filling, the sandwich was lacking a little structural integrity. The mushrooms were nice, though there was one big clump that were too big to bite through. There was too much lettuce for my personal taste. The dressing provided a nice citrus flavour, but otherwise there was not a lot of flavour.

Fortunately, everything else was a hit, starting with the sensational glazed crispy fried mushrooms. They had a nice light coating which stayed really crispy despite the sticky sauce. The flavour was a good combination of sweet and spicy, and the accompanying chilli mayo was creamy and tasty. This dish was perfect in terms of both taste and texture, and was probably our favourite dish we had in Vienna.

On to the sweets. We rarely turn down an opportunity for something pandan flavoured, so of course we chose the coconut pandan brioche. The creams could have been a little sweeter, as there was a hint of bitterness to the bread at the crust, but otherwise it was fluffy and well balanced, with both flavours shining through.

And finally, the caramelized French toast was delicious! The bread was so soft and fluffy, and nicely sweetened (though we thought it could have stood a bit more caramelization and colouring). The vanilla cream was so light, it was a dream.

What a pleasure

-still water 3€
-three spirit livener tonic 13€
-erdäpfelschaum weißer spargel radieschen 18€
-ravioles du dauphiné spargel holunder 26€
-rhabarberknödel vanille eis 16€

I was brought to your table and given the menus. After a while the waitress asked if I needed recommendations and she tried to explain the non alcoholic drinks very well. She let me try three different options! I went with a rather bittersweet mocktail.

The food will be explained as well. Usually people would go with a medium and a big dish or two mediums and a mini. Dessert is common too. I chose the first option.

The "potato foam" was heavenly. Sooo cheesy, paired with asparagus, fresh spinach and radishes. Topped with airy potato crisp. Wow wow wow.

As the medium dish was on the larger side, the big ravioli was rather small. But the taste did not disappoint! The aspargus must've been pickled and the oil matched perfectly.

Dessert is a must, especially this one. Typical austrian dumpling with a hot rhubarb filling, surrounded by a cold rhubarb filling and sweet crumbs as well as the best and most refreshing vanilla ice cream you'll ever have.

Every component was everything you could dream of, the service top notch. Of course the prices are high but I'm sure you'd be aware before you book a table. The service was excellently in time too, I guess with company the courses would take longer but I was served in an adequate speed alone.

Creative menu

At dinner we were recommended to order 3-4 plates per person, which sounded like too many but seemed accurate. The menu is divided into mini, small, and big dishes, and the big plates are really not big. On the one hand, it means you get to try lots of dishes. On the other, the cost adds up quickly! We shared all the dishes we ordered.

The glazed focaccia and white bean dip (from the 'mini' section of the menu) was the highlight. The bread was a really tall and airy bake with a good crust. It had a sticky, slightly sweet glaze and was served with a white bean dip that was the perfect accompaniment.

Also from the 'mini' section, we tried the smoked croquettes yuzukoshō. They were filled with smoked potato and tiny chunks of smoked tofu. The coating was wonderfully crisp. There was a small amount of yuzu paste on top, which was tasty. This was really good.

From the 'small' section of the menu, we got the brioche and faux gras. Once again, the bread was pillowy soft. The paté was thick and you could tell it was made of mushrooms, but the flavour was a bit too mild. Maybe it's accurate for fois gras though?

We shared a potato rösti cucumber dill (also 'small'). It was already halved, convenient for sharing between two. The texture was spot on, crispy on the outside with fluffy potato inside. The cucumber and yoghurt added some nice flavours and textures, and the salad was fine too.

Moving on to the 'big' plates, we got the ravioles de dauphiné smoked potato, and were disappointed to see that it was very small. The pasta was a bit too thick, considering the daintiness of the overall dish. The smoky potato filling was the same as in the croquettes, so it was tasty, but the pasta parcels were so small that there just wasn't much of it in there. The dish was covered in horseradish foam. The dish was just ok for me because of that (I'm not a fan), but horseradish fans will enjoy it.

Our final dish was the tortilla mushroom shawarma salsa verde. This was really tasty. The bread was soft and lovely. The salad and salsa verde had lots of fresh herbs that brought some lovely flavour and freshness. The mushrooms were really soft, juicy, and flavoursome, with a meaty texture. This felt much more substantial than the ravioli.

Despite a few quibbles, I feel it is worth a visit, if you've got the money for a slightly higher end experience.

Gourmet Dining Experience

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Vienna. The menu had a good variety of choices and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I do wish the portion sizes were larger, especially for the ‘large’ plates. One beautiful ravioli is not filling enough for two people and the price(s) were quite high for the portion sizes. It is still very much worth it for the dining experience. We shared 4 dishes and ordered a fifth as we were still a bit hungry. Everything was so delicious!

Pros: Beautiful restaurant , Great location , Delicious food

Cons: Small portions for the price

Excellent service. Delicious food. Great atmosphere.

We were here for Vday brunch, each of us had a brioche sandwich, we shared a hazelnut pastry and each of us had a drink. I can absolutely recommend everything. Cannot wait to go back. It is already my favorite vegan restaurant in Vienna

It is the sister to Jola but offers an a la carte menu so a good option if you want a great experience but at a fraction of the price.

Perfect place for a special occasion

We came here on a special occasion and were really pleasently surprised by the whole experience. The food was super delicious and really well presented, everything tasted well balanced with lots of interesting flavors. The staff was also nice (especially the person at the bar) and the interior was nicely designed. The dinner is not exactly cheap (we paid about 50€ per person), but i think it's still well worth a visit, to experience really delicious vegan food!

Pros: All vegan, Extraordinary food, Super friendly staff and cool ambiance

Cons: Rather expensive
