Best sushi bar in Rio for vegans - Edit
I really like how the service is well organized and how the chef is completely into making the food with great skill, with very good attention for vegans and all you can eat at a very fair price and there so many options to choose on. I found the the items made with fruits a very original idea. I like everything a lot, I recommend to try a little bit of everything, some items are really over the standards. I just regretted that they don't have vegan cream cheese 😁

Great, most vegan options not on the official menu - Edit
I came here twice in the span of one week, I think that’s telling… The first time I had the vegan combo, which was delicious. The ingredients were all very fresh and I thought the combinations were creative and unusual, which I‘ve found difficult to find in vegan sushi in Brazil. I would have wished that they had maybe another vegan menu, but I still decided to come back and eat the same menu again if necessary. There is a menu called "Combo Rodizio" that my brother (who eats fish) decided to order where you can pick from various choices to make your own menu. I saw that it had some vegan options so I asked if it was possible to replace the fish choices with vegetables and then they gave a vegetarian/vegan menu card to pick from. There were A LOT of options on it, probably about 30 kinds of vegan sushi that were almost entirely not on the official menu. They had tofu, avocado, egg plant, courgette and other things on it of which there wasn’t a single dish in the other menu. I don’t know why they wouldn’t put these choices on the official menu. It cost about 90 R$ altogether and consisted of about 5 courses. I was so full by the end of it that I took the rest home. I forgot to photograph everything but what I did photograph I will put here. Ask for the veggie Rodizio Combo

Little vegan menu on the back! - Edit
At first glance there’s nothing vegan or veggie on the menu until you flip it over where there’s 10 or so options - a few of which are vegan. None of the usual staples like edamame beans, Aga-dashi tofu, pumpkin rissoles, spinach or tempura (I will bend my vegan diet a little to accommodate tempura on occasion!). I just had the ‘Temaki Vegamaki’ cucumber roll - and it came crammed with fruit (not on the menu) which I spent five mins taking out and looking like an idiot. Not against fusions but strawberries, kiwis and mango in my sushi roll is not a dream I’ve been chasing! They also have a weird thing about over-pouring sake so that it spills all over its saucer and you have to clean it up because it drips all over you. I would not come here again!

Cons: They put fruit in the sushi rolls!!!, It’s a chain, no character , Chefs are not Japanese

Bend your diet? For tempura 🍤? Based on how you wrote that it's safe to say we're talking about traditional tempura with an actual animal.

As vegan isn't a diet. So perhaps you'd be more plant based.

Vegan platter is delicious - Edit
There is one labelled vegan platter option and one labelled veggie platter option or you can pick and choose between its individual components. We spent about 70 reais each including some beers. Truly delicious!

Delicious "rodizio" - Edit
I tried the vegan/vegetarian rodizio (unlimited food/all included) for R$ 79,00. Totally worth it if you are hungry. There were aa lot of options, including vegan ceviche, vegan sushis, mushrooms, temakis, some fried things, and also sweet sushis. The food was delicious and the waiters very gentle.

Not vegetarian - Edit
This place isn't actually vegetarian, but there's an English menu with quite a few clearly marked vegetarian and vegan options. Judging by the menu Lapamaki Ipanema is all vegetarian. I got a platter of vegan sushi which was really nice, although a little pricey.

Delicious vegan sushi - Edit
I ordered the vegan sushi plate, it was delicious - especially the mushroom one! It was 44 reals for 20 pieces. Nice to find somewhere open late.
