Great vegan menu - Edit
Wow what an experience. Everything here was wonderful. The service was excellent, the food delicious, and the dishes came out so quickly I thought they had made a mistake. My one complaint is that the portions were not super filling. We ordered off of the vegan menu which was extensive, creative, and delightful.

Beware of unappetizing visuals - Edit
I enjoy Laos in Town's food, they have solid veg options. But if you are going with omnivore friends, beware of what they order. The restaurant serves large whole fish and it can be very unappealing to look at - just prepare yourself for that. They also have no idea what their draft beer IS, let alone if it's vegan...I just guessed that it was by Beerlao since even the manager couldn't tell me what it was.

Nice drinks, vibe, and food! - Edit
Sat on the outdoor side of the bar and really enjoyed our time! All the servers/food runners were very friendly, and the food/drinks were perfect for a hot day. We both ordered a cocktail, a lychee juice to share, and the mango salad for a small snack, all were on point!

Quite greasy - Edit
We love the fact that there is a vegan menu but found the food to be swimming in oil. I've had good vegan Laotian food and this is not it.

Vegan menu - Edit
When a business claims vegan, we vegans would like to believe them. It is unfortunate that not everyone feels they are as vegan as we would like them to be. The biggest issue is usually things that are deep fried/ cooked in the fryer. So with that said, avoid those items.
Read moreAfter that, it's what is sautéed that will be acceptable, or cold dishes/ salads. They still seem to have a good selection. There's a tofu laab salad and a crispy rice salad - there's mango salad if the mango is in season. I liked the rice salad, as you ate it with leaves of romaine lettuce. There's a few entrees, like wide flat rice noodles and a couple curry dishes - nothing extraordinary, but nice to know they make the effort to have these on a vegan menu. It's good food, and a solid choice when you can't convince your entire party to go vegan. Follow up with some sticky rice steamed green by pandan leaves and sprinkled with some coconut milk and sesame seeds, accompanied by mango cubes. Lovely! I like the cubes, easier to eat than the common sliced presentation.
I like this place, and I just hope they learn to have a vegan fryer. There's an extensive bar. The place is cute on the inside. Nice options for outdoor seating. Relatively quiet part of DC just off of the H Street Corridor.
Pros: Vegan menu, Good prices, Cute location and decor

Amazing! - Edit
Wonderful! They have a separate vegan menu. I had the mango salad and tofu wok noodles which I highly recommend. It’s super trendy with a nice outdoor seating area and plenty of indoor seating. Our waitress Lee was awesome, too.

Avoid— fryer not vegan - Edit
Even though there is a vegan menu, most of the things on there are actually not vegan because they fry tofu in the fryer they use for chicken and other meat. Nothing’s worse than a place that tells you it’s vegan but it’s not

Lovely new spot with tons of dog friendly patio seating. Service was wonderful. There is a whole separate vegan menu available with a wide selection of options. Drinks available too. I will definitely be back.
