Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian restaurant serving vegan dishes including a wide variety of curries, vegetable mains, and sides. Specify vegan when ordering. Open Mon-Sun 17:00-23:00.
The place is beautiful staff all very friendly and helpful. Is a lot of vegetarian options but when asked a lot of these were cooked with Ghee etc so not vegan friendly. What I would say is I was entirely confident in what was provided as manager took great pains to be clear. Wife vegetarian so when she was ordering it was pointed out what included dairy and not for me. Same with breads etc. So if ok with working with staff they will ensure ok 👌. Food was delicious.
Lal Quila is a good choice if you're looking for a nice Indian restaurant near to the centre of York. The menu includes lots of vegetable mains and sides, most of which are vegan as they don't cook using ghee. Other dishes can easily be made vegan by asking them to exclude yoghurt or cream. All the classics are available, including veg balti, madras, dhansak and vindaloo. Some nice sides too including sag aloo, chana masala and tarka daal. Everything we tried was very good. Plenty of choice for your carnivore friends too.
