Vegan burger with gluten-free bun

Menu is well marked with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. The Vegan Smash Burger was the only vegan item on the menu, so that's what I ordered. It was also gluten-free.

I also ordered it without the pesto aioli, because I didn't trust that it was free of mayo or cheese. Maybe that's where the flavor was. The burger as a whole was bland. The bun was dry and fell apart with the first bite. I tried adding salsa, but that didn't help. This vegan burger was a lost cause. I would not eat here again.

Go to nearby Big Slide Brewery instead

Ordered the chips and salsa as a starter because we had just finished climbing a hike peak and were starving. For $10, I was hoping for something more than what I can pour from a jar and a bag. Ordered the vegan “smash burger” which was also disappointing.
The side salad was fresh and good, but I’ll stick with Big Slide Brewery or make the trip to Saranac Lake for Rivertrail Beerworks in the future.

Beer not Food

The only vegan entree is the vegan smash burger. It is an anemic version of an impossible burger with limp lettuce and 2 tomato slices, dab of vegannaise. Side salad had chunks of cheese in it. Go for the beer. Don't count on getting a meal.

Pros: Idea of vegan option on the menu

Cons: Obviously contaminated food, Product not worth the cost

Always have at least one Option

One of the few establishments in Lake Placid that makes an attempt to provide a vegan option. Had the Vegan Smash Burger (Plant-based burger on ciabatta roll with sun dried tomato pesto aioli, lettuce and tomato). Had it with a nice side salad. For dessert, had an excellent Vegan Carrot Cake with vegan cream cheese frosting and walnut praline.

Call before you go

We popped in here hoping to get vegan pizza.

Unfortunately when we arrived they only had two vegan options on the menu - salsa and chips as a starter, and a veggie burger.

An ok spot if you're vegetarian, if you're vegan I'd call before you go.

Tasty and Friendly

The menu changes, but there are labeled vegan options. The vegan dessert (carrot cake) is labeled vegan and was delicious. The vegan burger was very good, it’s not beyond or impossible, and was well thought out and enjoyable; we’ve had a million vegan burgers this vacation & this one was the best.

Pros: Labeled Vegan Options, Knowledgeable Staff, Vegan Carrot Cake

Cons: Chips and Salsa were only okay

One vegan option

They offer a tempeh BLT sandwich which was fine. It’s nice to have a vegan option if you’re there for the beer or with friends but I wouldn’t go there just for the food. They did have a vegetarian “chicken” nugget pizza but no vegan cheese. Cool place though!

Limited number of vegan options but go for the vegan carrot cake.

Vegan BLT was really good! Very much enjoyed the French fries. It’s too bad they don’t have more vegan options to choose from. I think salad was the only other vegan options. But if you need just one reason to go, it’s to get a piece of their vegan carrot cake. They have their own bakery, Bake Placid, that makes the cake and their breads and pretzel bites, but it’s not open to the public… so we had to get a couple slices of the carrot cake to go. It just seems unfair that I can’t go buy two, three, or eight carrot cakes to take home.

Pros: The vegan stuff they have was great

Cons: Only a few vegan options

Good, not very many options

I got the quinoa power salad without the cheese. It was good, but not quite enough to be a full meal.

Check menu prior to coming

We are here 06/2022 and all mock meats and cheese aren’t on the menu but they have vegan dessert option

Last time we came in 06/2021 there were a ton of options

Overall great atmosphere and amazing staff.

Two nice vegan options

Regardless of the vegan options, this place has a great ambient and an outdoor seating. There wasn’t a vegan burger at the menu but rather a jackfruit wrap which was flavor rich, but a bit too spicy for my taste. The other dish is a vegan pizza. My vegetarian friend said the white beans falafel was great though not vegan.

Pros: Ambient, Great beer selection

Cons: Only a few vegan options

OK for area which is not saying much

This place had 2 items which are vegan, an Impossible burger with avocado and a pizza with vegan cheese and sausage. I had the pizza which had a good crust and plenty of vegan cheese but the vegan sausage crumble was very dry. My buddy ordered the Impossible burger and they served it with bacon on it.

Pros: The 2 vegan options were labeled on menu

Cons: Wait staff doesn't seem to know what vegan means
