It was already my second visit to Laibok and it was again just great. The staff is really friendly, the food is great and the price is also okay for Krumlov.

Amazing vegan food - Edit
The restaurant is 100% vegetarian and many dishes have a vegan option (I posted some pictures). Also vegan deserts are possible which in my experience is rare in Czech Republic. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the food was amazing too. We ordered about 10 different dishes and everyone was happy (also non-vegan friends). One more plus is the beautiful location right next to the river. I would give 5 stars if I was able to ☺️

That’s a really cool place, with nice outdoor seating by the river. There are plenty of vegan options and the food was very delicious. Also the staff looked like as he really loves his job. Totally recommended. We could pay with euro in cash.

Za me dobry - Edit
A nice restaurant with a great location providing a spectacular view of the river - outside seating definitely recommended. A nice waiter, but maybe he was a little bit too much? I dig his welcoming and happy energy, but it can be overwhelming sometimes. Amazing variety of food - nice change for a Czech veggie person who's used to not having much of a choice when eating in typically Czech restaurants. Goid food, but nothing too exciting - a piece of Indian, a piece of Mexican, bulgur, couscous, etc.

That's David 🥰 We are so happy, we moved from Vienna next to the czech border, so we can hop to our favourite restaurant in the most beautiful place I've been. Always feels like home. Thanks for your comment, so we know, laibon is still alive!

I miss David! I was there with a student group a few years back, and his welcoming energy was a big part of why Laibon was the preferred hangout for the group. I still crave their haluski.

Bad microwaved food - Edit
Really do not recommend this place. There are not many Vegetarian or vegan alternatives in Cesky but would rather bring my own food to town and eat somewhere. I have bulgur with vegetables, but actually no vegetables. My boyfriend had a local dish with cheese and had two bites and stop eating. Food it heated in the microwave.
Read moreWe went there during Covid-19, restaurant is definitely not Covid proof. Table is not cleaned, waiter comes wayyy to close, menu was gross, toilet I haven’t even been because my boyfriend said I really shouldn’t because it was so disgusting.
I am normally really really not that critical but this was bad. Really don’t get the reviews on HappyCow. Sorry.
Pros: The terrace is nice next to the water
Cons: The food, Not clean

Amazing location, okay food - Edit
You can sit right by the river. It's a lovely spot. Waiter (owner?) was a bit too familiar, especially in corona times. Had the burrito and a salad. Both dishes had a lot of cucumber. The taste was okay, the burrito was better than the salad. Huge portions. The water was warm.

Overpriced and not really good - Edit
Probably the only veg place in town but the indian place around the corner would have been a better choice. Small portions, extremely overpriced (200 CZK for way too spicy lentils with pita bread). You pay for the location with the view (only at summer months).

Lovely meals and lovely staff - Edit
A nice surprise in Cesky Krumlov. It was so good we returned for a second meal. The host was very friendly and the meals were simple yet delicious. We enjoyed the dhal, chilli, sabdzi, pea soup, nachos, cauliflower & spinach soup, and the blueberry borka. Admittedly, the dhal was a bit bland but everything else was flavorful and delicious, especially the blueberry borka! The host was amiable and spoke very good English. We loved the 40s music playing in the dining room.

Must go for vegans in cesky krumlov! - Edit
Laibon was a welcome discovery on our visit to cesky krumlov. The food was delicious and the portion sizes generous (we had the red tofu curry and Asian stir fry). Even better was David’s amazing service and friendly personality, making us feel welcome and making us laugh!

Best vegetarian /vegan option in town! - Edit
Cesky Krumlov is very lucky to have a place like Laibon! With "authentic Czech food" featured most everywhere else (meat, meat, and more meat), David (the owner) offers a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options. With a perfect location in the Old Town and a great terrace right on the banks of the river with a sweet view of the castle tower, the place cannot be beat. The inside atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Like many restaurants, it's "cash only," so be prepared with Karounas (but the prices and portions are reasonable). We ate 3 meals there while in town!
Read morePros: Strictly vegetarian with lots of vegan options, Great food, prices and location, Nice owner (David!)

Tourist trap with odd retro feeling and less than average food - Edit
First of all, the location is amazing and staff was very nice. It looks like typical czech "historical" tourist trap and the food is exactly how you would expect it in such place. You pay for the location and nice view. Food itself is rather boring, not much flavour and very cheap if we are talking about ingredients, but the actual price for meal is high. As mentioned before, year 2000 is still there and all meals we tried looked like that. Go for the view and snacks.
Read morePros: Great location and view, Nice service and staff
Cons: Expensive, Dull average food, no taste, Feels like tourist trap
