Sadly no longer very vegan friendly - Edit
Reviews and photos on here looked great, but were not recent so I checked online and there was no mention of the vegan menu. I phoned them and they said, "yeah, we have vegan things, not many though". I visited the next day and the only vegan item was a main of grilled asparagus. It may have been lovely, but didn't sound very filling and my husband doesn't like asparagus so we left. Also only have 1 non alcoholic beer.

Great food for hungry walkers - Edit
We arrived here after walking for five hours around the area, which is beautiful. We'd seen online that they had vegan options, and were not disappointed!
Read moreI had the vegan fish and chips, which had a good amount of nori seaweed around the banana blossom, under the batter, making it taste really sea-like. My wife had the Moving Mountains burger and really enjoyed it. Both came with loads of chips. We also had starters (onion rings for me and halloumi fries for her - she's not vegan) and then I squeezed a chocolate tart in because it seemed rude not to.
All the food was delicious and we struggled to walk back to the tent afterwards. Which is a good thing, in case you were wondering.
Pros: Great food, Good portion size, Friendly and competent staff
Cons: On the pricey side

Good place to stay - Edit
Great place to stay, the location is perfect. There’s plenty to do around about. Food was ok the portions were quite small and overpriced. The vegan breakfast was very small there were only dry toast no butter, tomatoes, 2 moving mountains sausages, baked beans and mushrooms. They didn’t have any plant milks so couldn’t have a cup of tea and no desserts suitable for vegans.

Good Vegan menu - Edit
Cosy pub in the center of the peak district... Very surprised to see a vegan menu here. The menu has around 4 options including a vegan dessert.
Read moreI had the moving mountains burger with BBQ jackfruit and chips. Big portions. My friend had the vegan chilli.
2 meals and 2 drinks were £30 in total.
Pros: Good Vegan options for an old style pub
