Poor store - Edit
Medium size store close to Canteras Beach promenade, but poor in vegan products. Ecologic vegetables, eggs, cheese and milk. Must improve.

Despite it's lush nature, it's tough to find organic food in shops in Gran Canaria. As almost all restaurants are only offering dead animals or animal excretions I was happy to find La Batea Ecologica, at the very end (Auditorio Kraus) of the wonderful beach called Las Canteras. The Batea offers pulses, some fresh food like bananas, vegetables and parsley in abundance, soy milk/yogurt and pre-fab soy burgers, seitan etc. Unfortunately every time I went to shop the ambiance was sad and cold, as if at a funeral. Whereas veganism is all about live and let live. But then I guess, it is tough to be a Vegan in Spain...

quidam 12 Sep 2013 - It might be tough be be vegan in Gran Canaria (I lived there for over a year) but it´s really easy in other places of Spain like Barcelona.
