For 24 pesos each, I was impressed with the burger and hot dog. Both were served on good, thick bread with some nice toppings that made them quite tasty. Carrot juice was very good. Nothing was amazing, but I thought it was a great value.
Although this is easily the oldest vegetarian place in Puebla (it's been around for more than 15-16 years as far as I can remember), it is generally very disappointing.
One the one hand, you appreciate that it's been around for many years, but on the other it's a shame that in all this time the quality hasn't improved at all. The menu is pretty bland in general, and the place is not really a great option for vegans, since most of the food either contains dairy or eggs. Even items that would seem vegan if you removed the cheese, do contain dairy and/or eggs in some way (the bread, for example, is not vegan - which not only is surprising but also frustrating).
If you're vegetarian there are a couple of decent fast food options such as pizza and burgers, but as of the last time I visited this place (4-5 months ago), they still didn't have a single item listed specifically as vegan, something that becomes even more mystifying since there are actually a few vegan options, but sadly they won't tell you in any way unless you ask.
For some reason I've yet to understand, this place seems intent on staying away any sort of improvement or change, which is a shame given that it isn't a very good ambassador for vegetarian food, while being the most widely known vegetarian place in the city.
I went twice. Once for the sunday buffet. Have not been thrilled by the vegan choice and the taste of food. But service was amazing, very organized and efficient. You have to ask what is vegan or not in the buffet because even a simple green salad can hide small bits of cheese. I would give just a good to the restaurant section. But I really liked the fast food section. They make amazing vegan hamburgers and their french fries taste homemade. Plus its so cheap. Deserves a very good/excellent rate.
This is a famous and classic veg. place in Puebla. Be aware that the non-vegan food is not marked so you need to ask what is what. They also have gelatin that I would avoid just to be sure. Desserts but nothing vegan but fruit. Pretty good place but I have to say that the downtown location is better (and more expensive). I highly appreciate this place being here!
