Amazing vegan burrito!!

I found La Villa del Chef on Happy Cow plus our tour guide had recommended it as an excellent food option. As a vegan, not many options as found out felafel burger had egg in it and bun was not vegan so went for option two- the veggie, rice and red bean burrito which was huge and very filling. There were pasta options though with Parmesan cheese in the pesto not sure what vegan option would taste like. I loved the burrito and if they had a few more vegan options would have given them four stars. Enjoyed a fabulous, fresh mojito during Happy Hour for 15 quetzals as a side note!

Pros: Reasonable prices, Excellent filling burrito, Delicious juices and cocktails

Cons: Very limited vegan options

There is no vegan option but salad

The waiter said the burger bread and the chickpea burger are made with eggs. He just recommended the salad as a vegan food, so I gave up to find another restaurant. Whatch out!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Only salad as vegan option

beautiful view and good food for a good price

I had a chef’s salad ( asked no oil in it) and I have also asked to boil me 4 potatoes ( they have cooked potatoes in the menu, but I don’t use oil) they were happy to accommodate my taste and it was a great meal! And prices were nor high!

Pros: friendly staff, speaking english, english menu, menu modification possible

delicious food and warm welcome

I loved this place. Was greeted personally by the owner and sat on the terrace looking over the lake. I had the burrito which came topped with cheese so be sure to specify you are vegan when you order to avoid that. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: great service and good views of the lake

Cons: be sure to specify if you want vegan food

Kind-hearted people run the place

I noticed in the description that the owners build playgrounds for children, and I was pleased to see that they are community-minded people. That encouraged me to eat here.

I headed there for lunch today and while I was there, I saw some of the generosity in action. A young woman came by with a toddler, asking for money. The owner not only gave her the money, but invited her to have a meal there. He sat her right on the beautiful porch, rather than hiding her inside.

Yes, the food was good. I had a delicious salad. It's fairly easy to find a good salad. It's not as easy to find people who care for others in this world.

Pros: fresh food, kind people

Vegan Friendly

Visited on 11th June 2012. This restaurant has many vegetarian options and most can be made vegan. I had vegi burritos and my partner had a vegi burger. Both were really good as are their juices. The service is very friendly, the environment is very chilled. A great place to watch the sunset and free worry dolls with your bill! Yay!

Pros: Vegan Options, The View, Nice staff
