I got several items here, all of them tasted fantastic. Fresh ingredients and good coffee, too. My first vegan stop in Lima!

Lovely Cafe, Medium Food

This was a lovely little cafe, I really enjoyed just sitting there.

It got even better when I ordered the quiche. Wow, it was served on a plate made of a wood cross section. So beautiful, I almost didnt want to eat it. When I bit in, it didnt live up to its incredible presentation, but was still good. It was made with a lot of onions and tasted very nice. The let down was that it was warmed up, but not enough, so it was only lukewarm. I would not get it again but I was not disappointed in ordering it.

Since the slice was not enough for a meal, I also ordered their special, the bao bao. And wow, the bun itself was fantastic...the best flavor and texture I've ever experienced from a bun. Unfortunately the filling was not so great. It had carrot "lox" paired with some sort of schmear. it was a brave dish. I applaud them for trying, even if it didnt turn out great.

I also ordered a cinnamon roll to go, which was a total miss bc it was stale but probably would have been great if it were heated up just a little. There were lots of other baked goodies. They mostly didnt appeal to me (I'm a donut person), and these were mostly cookies, biscottis, etc.

The three items cost me a little over 50 sol. Not bad, but prob not a place I'll go back to given that the dishes didnt land so well.

Wonderful cafe

This cafe is not far from Jefferson Square and central to everything we did in Miraflores. I got El Triple, which is tomato, avocado, and “egg” salad sandwiched between three slices of bread. It was smooth and creamy and wonderful. My other half got the veggie burger, which while a little messy was packed with flavor.
There were so many pastries to choose from it was hard to decide! Fir the our and empanadas were perfect.

Quality

Really straight-forward food done really well. My friend and I shared a salad and pesto gnocchi. Everything tasted fresh and high-quality. It’s on the expensive side for sure, but it’s good. The people who work here are very nice.

So yummy!!

This used to be a larger restaurant which had to downsize due to Covid ☹️☹️ it’s an amazing breakfast and lunch spot. We had the berry bowl and eggplant lasagna and WOW! The berry bowl was perfect, the lasagna was soo cheesy and creamy and delicious, I never would’ve expected it to be so good for a gluten free dish. I also got the cappachino and tahini cookie - coffee was okay, cookie was great! It’s hard to find vegan coffee in Peru so I appreciated it. Prices were a bit high but portions were a decent size, i was very full and everything tasted great, so it’s worth it.

Very mediocre

Cafe / bakery in Miraflores without a proper coffee machine. Stopped here twice, once for cake, once for lunch. Offerings were mediocre on both occasions. The cakes were too dry and too sweet, maybe we ordered poorly. We also had a "snickers" for takeaway which was good though. On the second visit we tried the eggplant lasagne and corn mushroom pie. I wasn't a big fan of either of those but my husband thought they were ok.

Regarding drinks: We had a chai (good), a power juice (strange because ginger was choped and not blended), cappucino (not good), and espresso (very weak).

A great place for coffee, snacks, breakfast, or lunch

I prefer this place for a quick snack. The pastries and snacks are awesome. I think they make the best alfajores in Lima. I’ve never had breakfast here, but the menu looks yummy, with waffles, vegan yogurt, and other tasty things. I never miss this place when I’m in town. I go to Kennedy Park to hang with the cats and give $$ to Gatos Kennedy (the rescue that cares for the cats) so that they can keep doing their thing (hint. hint.), and then I walk over to Verde.

My only complaint is their coffee sucks. I always forget, order a French press, take a sip and immediately remember and regret it. Go for the tea or a cold drink. #Veganuary

Slow motion service

On the plus side, it's a nice cafe/bakery in Miraflores, but it lacks tables to sit. I went there 2 times, once for coffee and another time for lunch and cake.
- Finding good vegan places in Lima can be a real nightmare, so my expectations were high, as the place was recommended to me by local friends, but...

The first time, when I ordered the choco-chai (a kind of drink between chai tea and hot chocolate) it was served almost cold, and it took a long time to arrive. The place was almost empty so I didn't understand why it took so long...
On the plus side, the taste was nice.

The second time, the food (a shawarma) was good but not extraordinary. For dessert I ordered an apple pie, which was a bit dry and took about 15 minutes to arrive, considering that the piece was already cut in the freezer, less than 1 meter away.

I complained about the incident to the waitress, (whom with turned away eyes) reply with a simple and cold - OK! . Not even a sorry or an explanation. She couldn't care less attitude.

When I asked for the bill, I told to another waitress, and then the owner came. She tried to explain the "attitude" of the first waitress by justifying the whole episode with a story out of context, even citing something about "forgiveness" and the intention towards that. It took a while for her to acknowledge the lack of service of her staff, and say a simple - I am sorry.

In conclusion, it's OK for light food, but the service is not good.
I hope it gets better.

Pros: Ambience, Taste

Cons: Service, food waiting time, Staff attitude

I’m in love with this cozy little place: La Verde.

Lots of vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free options. Also things with gluten and “panela” if you prefer. Love it! ❤️

American prices, children's portions

Spent 100 PEN and left hungry. Had a falafel dish that was nothing more than three cold falafel balls, four bite sizes pieces of bread, and a few tomato slices.

Pros: The menu is vegan, Gnocchi tasted good

Cons: Tiny portions., Cold falafel, Dishes are extremely basic

Best place in town

This is probably the best vegan restaurant in Lima! The food just tastes amazing and everything is freshly made with organic ingredients. I was searching for a good vegan lasagna for a while and finally found a place where they serve a great one. We also tried several other pasta dishes and some desserts and everything was just perfect. They also have a huge selection of homemade cookies and cakes as well as brownies and some empanadas. They also sell freshly baked bread in their store. Huge recommendation to grab some food at La Verde when you are in Lima!

Beautiful cafe

The variety of sweets and breads made daily here is amazing! Long menu of teas and great lattes. Gorgeous salads. Well, everything was gorgeous. Just make sure you have a little time to spend here as they are a small operation and make everything fresh.
