Nice place, hardly any vegan options.

Great service. Nice atmosphere overlooking (kinda noisy traffic) Main Street. Note that the veggie burger is really an egg omelet with a big slab of cheese on a bun.

Pros: Good service

Cons: Only vegan food is beans (and they might not be)

No vegan options!!!

I’m fluent in Spanish and ordered carefully asking them not to give me anything with meat or dairy. They ignored me and brought me regular plate: the rice and beans both have chicken stock (the beans they don’t even make there they’re pre-made). Their salad dressing is not vegan— I asked them not to put dressing and they did anyway. This place is overpriced and the staff is super rude. I couldn’t eat any of what they gave me, my plate was untouched, and they still made me pay. Terrible experience and service. Yeah you can drink a water based shake but that’s about it.

Go to Chenkos who has veggie options or across the street Onde su Abuela can give you beans and patacones and they actually make them in-house.

Helpful spot when there's no other options!

This place was the only restaurant in the area that was open early for breakfast where it was possible to find something other than a fruit smoothie! The staff helped us find something vegan to eat by swapping out meat with fruit on the comida tipica (gallo pinto, toast, salad, fruit, sprouts, plantains, and pickled vegetables on the side). We also got fruit smoothies with water, as is typical in Costa Rica, to complement the food. It was very delicious!

Pros: Helpful staff

Cons: Serves meat
