Estuve el jueves, celebrando mi cumpleaños, se encuentra en un lugar mágico en medio de un paraje increíble. Maite ofrece un menú degustación de 5 platos, cambian según la estación y de los productos que triunfan en cada temporada.
Read moreEl primer plato fue un puchero con borraja, el segundo, gratín de patata con queso, sobrasada vegana con espinacas al ajillo y espárragos trigueros.
El tercero, (no me dio tiempo a hacer foto) un arroz negro con puerro, calabaza infusionada con anís estrellado y canela, membrillo con jengibre y limón y zanahoria glasea.
El cuarto, unas albóndigas de guisantes con harina de garbanzo y remolacha.
El postre, un bizcocho de chocolate con higos y helado de manzana asada
(La platos llevan tantos ingredientes y elaboraciones que seguro me he dejado ingredientes por poner)
Todo estaba increíblemente bueno, una experiencia gastronómica increíble y la atención aún mejor.

Cocino vegano diariamente y tanto yo como la gente que venía conmigo nos hemos sentido muy pequeños. Todo lo que hace Maite es increíble como mínimo. Las combinaciones, la selección... Todo. Elige productos de proximidad, directamente de los productores de las cercanías. Todo sostenible y bio. Ha sido impresionante como mínimo.

This was a truly uplifting encounter. Starting with the trivial matter of the meal itself, this was extraordinary. My Wife and I agreed that the flavours and textures were among the finest, most subtle cuisines that we could remember. The ingredients were, to the greatest extent possible, sourced locally from local growers. Because of that, there is no menu, just whatever the artful owner can contrive. What she made was spectacular, spread over five delicious courses, served up for around 30 Euros a head. The venue was quaint, with tables arranged in an ad hoc manner around the charismatic establishment.

Paying her limited help deliberately above average pay levels for the work, the owner is compelling. She is evidently an influential individual in this small community, is committed with grace and humour to the 3Rs - minimal packaging, no waste, maximum support to local enterprise - the owner mingles with her customers with zeal. She sat with us and talked in the round about what constitutes a good life and exchanged fully and fairly with us her perspectives on Aragon, Europe and the world. She was a wonderful host...

I was very surprised to find a vegetarian/vegan restaurant in this area because besides the bigger cities Spain is very traditional and conservative when it comes to food.
Read moreUpon my call, the friendly owner told me she was willing to cook a 5-course meal especially for us, because we wanted to come early.
The food was mainly cooked with local produce, very tasty and creative.
We were also lucky that at eight, a live band started playing, which made our visit extra festive.
The owner took all the time to chat with us and we felt like family when we left.

Vegetarian restaurant that operates by reservation. If you're vegan, you need to inform them when making the reservation. The menu is fixed and consists of 4 dishes and a dessert (for dessert, they did give us a choice between three options). The food is very good. The service is a bit slow (they do let you know in advance) and you dine outdoors, so it can get hot in the summer.

Small restaurant with outdoor seating only (no place indoor, only the bathrooms). They have a “degustation” menu of 5 dishes (4 dishes and a dessert). If you let them know in advance that you are vegan, they prepare more elaborate dishes. We went on the day and without making a reservation, and we were still able to eat vegan options (although it is prefered to let them know in advance). The dishes are very elaborate, with local and seasonal products from the area, all the food is very, very good.

Todo de 10. Desde la localización en un pueblo remoto, pasando por la atención de las chicas, la increíble cocina de Maite y su manera de trabajar. No tienen carta, van elaborando platos según sus proveedores locales tengan distintos productos.
Read moreNos decantamos por el menú degustación y fue todo un acierto. Cinco platos y un postre, dos cervezas y un café por un precio más que merecido, la cuenta no llegó a los 65 euros. El menú fue un 95% vegano a excepción de uno de los helados del postre.
Deseando repetir para probar sus platos de cuchara de invierno, que tienen que ser una locura. También hemos visto que montan buenas jaranitas con música y baile. Una fortuna de lugar.

We're roadtripping through the mountains and as I've done many times on this trip, I opened up my Happy Cow app, out of sheer curiosity. When I saw the little icon, telling me that there was a vegetarian restaurant nearby, I almost jumped for joy.
