Fun food and decor

It was pretty quiet when we went on a Thursday night, even though it was taco night with ¥150 off each taco. We ordered a vegetable taco, vegetable burrito, bean quesadilla and nachos between 2 people which was all really tasty and a good amount of food. 1 taco isn't really enough, but the prices reflect that.

The food was all really tasty and the waiter was friendly and spoke good English. There's a sign outside that says they also speak Spanish.

The vegetarian options were clearly marked and it was also clearly stated when something could be made vegan. Our waiter came and asked us about cheese once we'd ordered anything to check whether we wanted it in our meal.

Pros: Vegetarian options clearly marked, Many vegetarian options, Authentic South and Central American food

Great fun place, nice staff

Came here after a long day of hiking so I was very hungry. Great atmosphere with a fun soundtrack! I ordered a lot of food and there was a slight mistake with my order, but staff were kind and fixed the problem and gave me a complimentary dessert on the house. If you like Mexican food it’s a great place to visit!

Pros: Good vegan options , Kind staff who speak Japanese, Eng and Spanish, Fun atmosphere with great soundtrack

Cons: Portion sizes are a little small

Excellent Value Lunch Meals

I go to La Quinoa almost every Friday to avail of their "vegetarian one plate". It's about 1000 yen, and you get a soft drink, some soup, a plate consisting of salad, a huge burrito and some other small bits, and some ice cream. Can't beat it for value and it tastes great.

Also they're basically the only proper restaurant in town with a ton of good vegetarian options. I'm extremely thankful for this place!

Pros: Lots of vegan and veggie options in rural Japan, Extremely polite and friendly staff, English menus

Cons: Evening meals are a good bit pricier

Lots of veggie options, some that can be made vegan.

We ate here tonight as we read some good reviews on happy cow. They have an English menu with clearly marked vegetarian and vegetarian option dishes. We ordered two veggie quinoa tacos, and a vegetable feast pizza between two and requested both without cheese. Both were tasty, although not huge. Luckily there was a homemade vegan carrot and quinoa cake on the menu, which was an unexpected treat for pudding.

I also had a quinoa beer with my dinner which was delicious!

Pros: Homemade vegan cake, Quinoa everything!, English menu, clearly labelled

Cons: Portion size quite small, No dedicated vegan dishes (apart from the cake)

Bland and dry

I really hate to say this but the pizza was terrible. Thin and dry base, and the tomato base sauce was also very thinly spread, you could hardly taste it. Vegetable toppings were dry and flavourless. I didn’t want to eat it but I was starving after just having arrived in Kagoshima at 9pm, and I’d paid 1300yen for it after all. With a beer I paid 2200 all up... yikes. Special mention to the waiter who was super friendly.

Cons: No marked vegan options

A lovely place with friendly staff and good food

We enjoyed our dinner here. There’s an English menu, highlighting veggie dishes as well as those which can be made veggie on request. When we asked about the veggie version of a non-veggie dish, the chef came out to explain what she was going to use instead of meat and checked we were ok with the ingredients. The food was fresh and very tasty, and we rounded off the meal with a delicious dessert (churros are very hard to resist...).

Great tasting food and good atmosphere

Asked the staff for vegan options and they were happy to help. Ordered the burrito lunch set (incl. soup (unfortunately chicken soup) , salad, rice, burrito and ice cream as dessert) , made vegan for me, and cost 1100 yen (price at photo is wrong). It was not enough to still my hunger, so I also bought a single taco (400 yen) and carrot cake (500 yen). It was definitely delicious. I recommend this place. Not 5 stars because they serve meat and chicken.

Pros: Big part of menu can be made vegan.

Cons: Restaurant serves meat and chicken, a bit expensiv

Excellent food and a great atmosphere

The menu had dish titles in Spanish and descriptions in Japanese but everyone was more than happy to explain and answer any questions we had. Plenty of vegetarian options although not specifically marked. However, the food was absolutely fantastic. The two of us split a quinoa salad and a pizza. The salad was very fresh and delicious and the pizza was very tasty. In fact, we were so happy with the food (and famished after a few days of hiking) that we had the quinoa tacos too, that they were kind enough to adapt to our needs when we asked them for a vegetarian version. All the staff was very helpful and super friendly and spoke English, Spanish and Japanese.

Pros: Delicious food, excellent staff, cozy and clean

Cons: No English menu
