Only visited once as we were traveling, but man if I lived here we'd be in every week. Our food came out fast and super fresh, and the place was popular
I got the yellow curry and like always- anywhere you go, it’s the best shiii. My boo got the general tao bean curd and it’s just as bussin 💯 we shared the pho, It’s slightly bland but with a lil siracha in that ho.. and you got yourself a meal.
We go there any time we have a hankering for pho. It's cheap but well worth it, the atmosphere is comfortable and the food is always filling. They have more than enough veg options are are informed about vegetarian needs. The staff are always helpful and kind. If you want some good veg pho this place is great!
Stopped in because it was crowded, so I figured it must be good. Fried tofu was one of the best I’ve ever had. The noodle dish was good as well. Lots of flavor in the veg.
Service was a disaster. I had to repeat a question I had about noodles three times and I am still unsure I got an accurate answer. Also, I heard multiple orders at other tables being confused or forgotten. For example, there were several clarifications that brown rice had been ordered when white rice was presented.
I hope the place survives, but they’ve got some work to do to improve service and professionalism.
Food is good, Service and Facility not so much - Edit
I got the Kho To with Eggplant and Tofu. Flavors were delicious. It was pretty salty, but that is probably just a characteristic of the dish, which I’d never had before.
When we came in the door, we were told to just sit where ever we want. They saw we had a baby, but did not offer a high chair. The people who came in after us were waited on before we were. I asked for a water from our waiter to go along with my hot tea, but was not brought it until I asked the other wait staff for one. We sat, finished, for a good 15 min. He walked by our table several times and never asked us how the food was or offer our check. We had to ask him. There were 2 people working the front and only about 6 or so tables. I feel like this would not be a difficult load to handle.
On top of that the floors were pretty disgusting. Not like a “we didn’t sweep after the last person” kind or gross... more like a “we haven’t swepped or mopped this part of the floor in a good 6 months. Everything else seemed ok, though.
At the end of the day, I would still go back, just don’t expect good customer service...
We were interested in trying La Que for quite a while. I was happy when we finally got around to it. Nice place. Quiet. We tell the server that we want everything vegan. She says "vegan?" So we go ahead and tell her one of the items we are considering. And say, we want no animal products , no milk, no egg, not fish sauce. She says yes. Only coconut milk in the curry. Then the same thing with the noodles. When the food comes, it's just dropped off, no checking to see if we need anything. I get up to find her and say that we ordered brown rice, not white. She goes to get it. Meanwhile, after a bite each, we're looking at the noodles and what looks like real chicken. It's been a long time since we've eaten chicken, so we're not sure. The brown rice is dropped off without even a second to catch attention and ask our concerns. Again, I get up to find her and say the chicken looks too realistic, is it chicken or mock? She says real chicken. I'll fix it. no apologies. We are both sick the next day. It's too bad the curry was so delicious, because I Don't think we'll be back.
I like the fact that having the mock meat or the tofu is actually cheaper than the meat, which reflects the truth rather than "this is healthy so we're charging extra."
You can sub any of the meat with the mock meat or tofu, which is pretty cool. I had some rice vermicelli spicy bowel thing I can't pronounce the name of. I think the mock meat is made of gluten, it was very chewy but soft, not in bad way.It was very good, and so was the veggie dumplings I had, the dip broth was very flavorful.
My friend that tagged along enjoyed her chosen lunch item (real chicken broccoli thing) as well. I shall be visiting again.
...still a great new restaurant in Louisville. Lots of veggie/vegan options, and the portions are huge! A very good value. The service is a little weird - I don't think the data from the waiter or waitress gets back to the kitchen in tact sometimes, or the kitchen staff just doesn't understand it. And, it is somewhat slow. However, the food is great, tea is included with the combo meals, and they have mock chicken! I'm still going to support them, and hope they can work out the kinks to become of one of Bardstown Road's best Asian/veggie options. The potential is there, they just need to follow through.

Update April 2010: They are now deep-frying the mock meats, making them even tastier! General Tso's mock chicken (or tofu) is incredible!
