La Parada de San Martin

This used to be an ovo-lacto vegetarian restaurant. Now they have evolved into vegan and with very nice results. Very open minded owner who listens to customers in order to offer a more attractive range of food.

Antes era un ovolacteovegetaroano que ha evolucionado a Vegano con muy buenos resultados. La dueña está muy abierta a sugerencias con las que ha conseguido ir ofreciendo una atractiva variedad de platos veganos.

The only vegan restaurant in Santander: a miracle. Everything is made with care and love, in a "home made" style, like if you were at home and your mum is vegan and cooking a nice meal for the family. I recommend "bastones de berenjenas con miel de caña" (soft sticks of aubergines with a special dark and thick honey made from cane sugar) and "setas empanadas" (finely breaded big Spanish mushrooms)...simply unique and delicious. I also tried "lasagna de acelgas" (chard lasagna covered with cheese and tomato sauce), "empanadillas caseras de queso de cabra y espinacas" (mini pasty filled with goat cheese and spinach) and for dessert lemon cheesecake and a very original carob bean sponge cake with bitter orange marmalade. Since I discovered a couple of months ago, I've been twice so far, and I don't go more often just because I don't live in the city centre. Simple and humble family business, walls are covered by hippy and naive paintings, mum and daughter are very nice and kind, they let us stay with our dog while eating and they love cuddle her: impossible to see in other restaurants of Santander.

Amazing Vegetarian restaurant in Santander. Most Vegetarian dishes but the chef/owner is Vegan and was really helpful in explaining which ones were suitable for vegans. We liked it so much we went back the next day. Staff are super friendly too, highly recommend!

Probably one of the only places in Santander that gets it.
