Nice Atmosphere, Okay Food - Edit

La Pacha Mama has a nice atmosphere and interesting decor. They have three menus - one vegan, one vegetarian, and one seafood. Each menu has a selection of 5-8 options (starters and mains). They also serve alcohol.

We had the cauliflower bites, the burrito, and jackfruit croquettes. The cauliflower was tasty. The burrito was mostly rice. The jackfruit croquettes were good, but a bit small. The price was a bit high compared to other places in Ubud. Worth trying or grabbing or a drink at, but there are certainly other places I would visit first.

Pros: Nice vibe

Cons: Small menu

now have seafood on the menu... - Edit

This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Ubud. I love the decor, friendly staff and the food. However, it’s no longer a plant-based restaurant as they have seafood on the menu.
The food we had was very tasty and the drinks were good. Not cheap!

Live music was great - Edit

This place is not vegetarian. It serves fish. They have a vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian menu. The vegan dishes are all lovely. I tried them all. Nice cocktails too and the only place we have managed to find beer that wasn’t a Bintang.

On the expensive side - Edit

Good food, good atmosphere. The staff was very nice and talkative. Would give it a five but I ended up paying double to triple the price I've payed at other places in Ubud with similar portion sizes.

menu lies - Edit

Under plant based, if you order the jackfruit medallions they add cheese to it and don’t tell you. Then they blame the copy writer of the menu for putting it in the wrong section... also we told them we were vegan. And they still gave us the cheese jackfruit medallions.... so pissed off feel so sick now

Cons: fake vegan menu (they hide cheese in the food)

Great food, killer vibe, good people - Edit

This place never disappoints. The food is delicious and creative with plenty of veg and vegan options, the vibe is super cool, and the design aesthetic is also really groovy. Oh yeah, and Alejandro who runs the place (also the head chef) is the best. I live in Ubud so I'm spoiled, but if you're just visiting, make sure you don't miss out!

really good - Edit

Almost fine dining experience for pretty reasonable prices (€30 for two starters, two mains two beers). The vegan taco and the vegan burrito were both excellent. Unfortunately this restaurant is no longer vegetarian as they serve fish as of February 2018 which is such a shame to go backwards in that regard. However the decor and staff and vegan food are all still excellent.

Pros: staff + service , Incredible food

Cons: no longer vegetarian , pricey compared to other places

great flavours, great atmosphere - Edit

We came here for food late in Saturday night. The band were jamming, the place was busy and lit with candles. The servers seemed to be having a great time too.

We shared a horchada - sweet and authentic - and a sharing platter. My favourite part was the cauliflower buffalo wings. All the flavours were good - the pico see Gallo, the guacamole, and the chilli pickles (they brought these on the side when we asked).

Just don't come here looking for the cheapest dinner in Ubud.

Amazing quality and flavours - Edit

So much to choose from, all the food on the menu sounded soooo delicious it was hard to choose! But we ended up getting the enchiladas, the jackfruit burrito and the platter for two for the starter. This was true authentic Mexican food and didn’t disappoint!!!

Pros: beautiful setting, nice open space

bomb ass tacos!! - Edit

such an adorable restaurant! really pleasant atmosphere, live music. definitely more so on the fancy side of things. we got guac and chips (which came with very few chips for how much guac there was). also got the jackfruit tacos and the shell tacos with tofu/refried beans. they were both AMAZING. kind of a small portion for the jackfruit tacos though.

Vegetarian place serving a lot of vegan options / can make dishes vegan. Our food was extremely delicious and very inventive, unique and something new. Their whole menu is an amazing mixture of Mexican and Balinese foods, definitely recommend. Very nice atmosphere as well!

Vegetarian Mexican with a lot of vegan options and a super friendly staff - Edit

It's a Mexican restaurant with great atmosphere and live music every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
The food is delicious and beautifully served. The staff is very attentive and mostly the chef is out checking on you if you like what you have or if you have any special wishes. It's the perfect place to have vegan Mexican food. The big starter platter, the burrito the quesadillas and the jackfruit curry are delicious. And for the drinks the Horchata (Mexican sweet rice drink) is a must try!

Pros: super friendly staff, very good food, nice atmosphere

Cons: some dishes cannot be made vegan

Amazing atmosphere, Friendly staff - Edit

My boyfriend and I ate here a few nights ago and loved the atmosphere. A little pricey but worth it for the yummy food, live music and attentive friendly staff! Most dishes can be made vegan if you ask, nothing is too much trouble. Even if you're not hungry it's a good spot for evening drinks!

mexican - Edit

If you are craving Mexican then this is a great option. I ordered the Veg Enchilada and it was delicious but quite small. I don't usually eat a huge amount but I will still hungry after this dish and it was more expensive than the average cafe in Ubud so I would expect to be satisfied.

Pros: Authentic Mexican, Nice atmophere , Yummy food

Cons: Expensive, Small portions

Nice Mexican food - Edit

I was happy to find out there is a Mexican vegetarian place right by where we're staying in Ubud. We had our first dinner there. The food was tasty and authentic, and the waiters were really friendly and helpful. Good place to go to if you're tired of Asian food.

Pros: tasty Mexican food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

Cons: rather expensive

Something Different! - Edit

This restaurant is a little bit different from the other restaurants in town as it has more of a nightlife atmosphere with music, alcohol and even a happy hour.
The restaurant does include dairy options but most options can be made vegan and they are accommodating. Food is delicious, portions are big and it's a great place to choose for a evening out.
