I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed here but all I can say is it is always a 5 star experience. Often come for the menu del día which is incredible value for money.

Home at last! - Edit
Lovely place, lots of anarcho-vegan posters and the like. Friendly and relaxed clientele, quick service... And the food. Real-tasting chorizo but no pigs were harmed... really very very good. We both had the chocolate and cream tart... wow... Genuine Spanish food, but vegan. Can't recommend it enough. Note that it got very full by 930 on a Saturday evening

Nice little vegan cafe - Edit
I'm quite fond of this place because of its great vibes. It's an anarchist cafe offering many vegan dishes (tapas, dishes of the day, desserts) that are all very appealing for a very fair price. I had the pâté, hummus and cheese platter, the chorizo and the ratatouille with melted cheese that were terrific. One of my friends took the menu of the day, a salad, pasta with mushroom and a dessert and she liked it a lot too. You have plenty of choice here, and it's one of my favorite vegan places in Madrid.

Great place to eat or have a beer - Edit
They have mainly veganized spanish food and tapas, like croquetas, pisto or tortilla, but also different burgers with fries. The food is very tasty and quite inexpensive. The chocolate cake is amazing! Great flair with an alternative, lgbt-friendly, political atmosphere. Nice staff.

That's just my cup of tea - Edit
In few words: La Oveja Negra (The Black Sheep) is a unique authentic and casual pub with great atmosphere and nice people. The food isn't really impressive but still good and you'll pay very little money for satisfying portions. I had a piadina with mushrooms and salad, huge serving, tasted alright but nothing to really be impressed by. Local draught beer was pretty decent though and the carrot cake quite good.
Read moreStaff was a bit overchallenged at times, but very friendly nonetheless. If you don't speak Spanish that might be tricky, but you'll come to an understanding eventually.
Hot food is served at lunch times (daily menu) and after 8 pm.
La Oveja Negra is not perfect, and it doesn't have to be, as it's worthwhile spendig time there.
I wanted to go there a second time but they had closed without further explaination (true, that's a bit annoying).
Good WiFi.
Pros: authentic place with good attitide, really inexpensive, generous portions(
Cons: good service isn't priority, can be randomly closed, hot food is only served at certain times

Incredibly cheap, great pub - Edit
La Oveja Negra is a great pub in the nice barrio of Lavapiés. The pub has a nice atmosphere, there are some interesting books that are worth having a look (especially if you understand Spanish) while you wait for the food, which is... great! Sandwiches are huge and tasty, and the chocolate cake is super (the carrot cake less so)! Super recommended! :--)

A beautiful space of equality & integrity - Edit
100% vegan. Fantastic value home-cooked vegan food in a welcoming environment for all. This place gets very busy, especially in the evenings, so arrive by 8pm to get a table.
Read moreWe were only in Madrid for a few days in April 2016, but visited 3 times, for lunch, dinner and just drinks (photos posted).
The set lunch (el menú del día ) was €8 which consisted of soup followed by a main course of a bean/vegetable burger. This included tea/coffee & beer/wine. We sat outside in the sun with our tea, after our meal. It was so good!
Our dinner was equally delicious, but something English & Americans need to be aware of, is the Spanish have their main meal at lunchtime (2ish), so dinners are burgers, sandwiches, salads etc.
We love this place and the atmosphere of equal rights for all. ♡
Don't come here if you are prejudice or homophobic.
Pros: 100% vegan, fresh food, equal rights haven with al
Cons: Closed Sunday evening & all day Monday.
