Serves meat, vegan options available. Casual cafe offering a few vegan items such as rice & beans, guacamole and fried plantains. Open Mon 12:00pm-8:30pm, Thu-Sun 12:00pm-8:30pm.
I ordered the vegetarian burrito, minus the cheese (after receiving confirmation that that would make it vegan). It was simple food, done well, and the portion was pretty big. My only complaint is that it turned up with 2 dips - I queried the creamy looking one and was told it was vegan, however, when I sank a chip into what looked like balsamic and oil and shoved it in my mouth, I was revolted to realise it was some sort of gravy and animal fat. I queried it, and the waiter said 'that one isn't vegan'. Given that I'd queried everything else, it wouldn't have taken much to tell me that before I ate it. In addition, it was served with the vegetarian burrito and it doesn't even qualify as vegetarian. I would eat there again, but BE WARNED about the dips.
Costa Rica is known for “Gallo Pinto” (beans and rice) and La Nena has the best version in the area served with a great plate of vegetables and salad. Super friendly staff in a cute and cozy cafe frequented by locals.

Textures could have been better - Edit
Had the vegan quesadillas. Bonus points for friendly staff and salsas that you can add to the plate yourself😄
