perfect evening in udine

dining at la libellula made our last evening in udine extra special. the service was superb and more than forthcoming. the food was also extremely amazing, classic italian dishes with a vegan twist without relying on too many meat substitute products. vegans and meat eaters alike will leave satisfied after dinner here. thank you, we really loved it!

Pros: completely vegan, classic italian, modern cuisine

Good

Quiet and nice place with outdoor seatings.
We ate well, the food was tasty. We had the balls and we would have appreciated a couple of balls more , but it was good! The owner is friendly and his staff is kind.

Pros: ALL VEGAN!!!

Interesting vegan restaurant in Udine

Fully vegan restaurant with very artistic and well displayed plates. Warm and welcoming service. The bill was a little high for What we actually ate. Portions could be bigger.

We really enjoyed the service of nice and caring owners:) The soup was very good❤️ For main we ate beyond burger with crispy potato and salad. And dogs are welcome.

Friendly people, good food, reasonably priced

I was in town for a quick business trip and ate most of my meals here. Fernando was an excellent host and the food was great. I especially recommend the pesto made with pistacchios, mint and lime.

Vegano Fantastic!

(Italian below)
This restaurant and its host Fernando are fantastic! They really know how to use their creativity to turn colourful vegetables, substantial (whole) grains, and a melange of nuts, herbs and spices into some flavourful and interesting dishes! Honestly the creativity is fantastic, and its about time to see it! This is not a shy vegan restaurant hiding with the overly salted and processed foods like seitan, tofu ect, so check it out. Definitely the best, if not only, vegan restaurant in Udine, but i hope many more will follow from Fernando! Or at least he opens another 20😁. You can tell a lot of time has been spent conjuring up the dishes, while keeping the beauty of the italian cuisine; intelligently combining a small amount of natural flavours. An example... I had the lasagna with raddichio, a sour tasting vegetable, which was very nicely combined with some sweet roasted cherry tomatoes, hearty potatoes and joined with a beautiful bechamel, all roasted together in the oven of course with an interesting layering of sicilian bread. And last thing, all very healthy. Grazie fernando, all I would say is more cherry tomatoes, i loved them!

Veramente fantastico! Creano dei sapore buonissimi al stile italiano. Finalmente un ristorante che usa i veri sapore della cucina italiana, per creare un pasto saporito e sano! Ho assaggiato dei pasti veramente creative, e' dei pesti molto saporiti. In più, l'oste, Fernando, e simpaticissimo. Venite qua se volete assaggiare qualcosa di diverso ma familiare. Veramente un ristorante vegano fatto bene. Alla prossima volta!

Real tasty and original

Ordered the mini burgers and polpettine. Everything was delicious and original with great flavour. Nice host, very friendly. Helped explain everything on menu.

Pros: Small but perfectly balanced menu, Great taste, Original creations

Cons: Might be useful to have some English descriptions

Tasty!

We enjoyed the jackfruit plate, the salat Libellula and the sushi cake. All of them very tasty, fresh and colourfull.
The owner kindly explained everything what was on the menu (even in our language - dutch).
If we visit Udine again, we defentily go eating there again!

Absolutely 100% vegan !!

Many places tell you that they prepare vegetarian or vegan and then don’t do it - this place lives vegan and is 100% dedicated and determined vegan! Creative dishes and tastes - we loved it! The owners are so much fun and very open to communicate - also in excellent English! Also vegan drinks and specialty beers available! If in doubt, start here! Owner traveled a lot in and around Asia and creates amazing dishes from what he has learned!

Pros: Amazing creative dishes - pick any, Fun and friendly owners, Great location and modern and clean place

Delicious food, beautifully served, nice ambiance!

Beautiful food, many interesting menu options, freshly made and inexpensive, what more can you wish for? The waiter is also really kind! I would recommend this place over Universo Vegano if you are in doubt ;-)

AMAZING

This is the little tucked away magic in Udine. With the friendliest staff, most delicious vegan food, and adorable atmosphere you are absolutely missing out if you don't visit during your time in Udine. We were able to get a table during lunch time immediately and were greeted by the owner as we sat down, who didn't hesitate to share a few stories of his time in the states and walk us through the menu. Then, with each course we were even more amazed at all of the perfect presentation and flavor combinations that each dish had. 10/10 will definitely be back.

Vegan Experience

I was pleasantly pleased to find such a cozy vegan restaurant here in Udine.
The food my friends and I ordered was really well prepared and all ingredients were fresh.
The service was great and both the owner and the waiter were interesting and friendly

The magical place

This place is absolutely magical. Small spaces with super inner garden. Owner speaks English and will help you however he can. Food is stunning as Italian food can be with additional magic from vegan flavor :)

Recommending it strongly. Will get back here every time I will be close to Udine.

perfect

Very good restaurant with perfect dishes for vegans. Soup, main course and sweets with really nice service! I can only recommend it! :) Thank you for the wonderful lunch, and see you nect time!

very good food and nice atmosphere

I've been in this restaurant many times and I was always pleased not only with the food but with the very nice and talkative (but not invasive) owner.
The menu is usually not very various: you have to choose between some pasta/rice, some seitan/tofu and vegetables, or booth of them. I always tried them both and I really liked the quality and the taste!
