Not much cop - Edit
Just not that good. Shame as they have lots of vegan options but they don't know how to make it tasty. So bland, use some salt and herbs for gods sake! Good margaritas though. Don't have the pizza it's terrible.

Not very impressed - Edit
La Hoja Verde is a nice place in the centre of Tulum pueblo, near the ADO bus stop. A relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food could be better. I had Tacos al Pastor. It was OK, nothing special or worth coming back for. In other reviews they have mentioned the pizza, and how bad it was. I haven’t tried the pizza but have seen it and can only agree that this must be awful. Would give them another try anyway, there’s still much more on offer.

Ottimo Ristorante - Edit

Mexican vegan heaven - Edit
Super delicious vegan version of Mexican cuisine. Small and cozy vegetarian restaurant with friendly staff and fair prices. We been here twice already and most probably we will come again. If you are vegan and visiting Tulum, you should definitely check this place out. Go vegan!

Surprised at the good reviews... - Edit
Perhaps we ordered the wrong food from their very extensive menu, but the “vegan” pizza with “vegan mozzarella” was simply a naff frozen pre-manufactured pizza base with a weak coating of tomato sauce and some cold crumbly vegan cheese on top. It was like eating a corrugated cardboard box.
Read moreGuacamole was good, service was good. Unfortunately the staff insist on speaking to you in American English even if you try your Spanish out. Generally full of tourists and don’t really know why - it’s not great.
Pros: Extensive menu with clearly marked vegan options, Busy, fairly good atmosphere
Cons: Really really poor pizza , Felt very “Americanised” - sorry

Great spot, many vegan options - Edit
We went hear a couple of times. Had the vegan pasta (note: their fettuccine are made without eggs, yay! But they also offer zucchini and carrot pasta) with pesto and vegan cheese. The pesto was okay, but the vegan cheese (made of nuts) was very delicious! We cannot recommend the pizzas here though. Also nice vegan omlettes for breakfast. Although the second day it didn’t tase as good as the day before, plus there was less avocado and the side salad was not seasoned, i don’t know why, it was probably not the same cook.
Read moreAlso great teas, coffee (plus they have almond and coconut milk) and smoothies and juices! Nice atmosphere too, just 2 steps from the main (touristy) road in Tulum. Definitely recommended it! The menue is clearly labeled. Prices are fair I would say.
Pros: A lot of vegan options, Great drinks (hot and cold), Their take-away cups are biodegradable
Cons: The food could use a little more spice or salt

A ton of delicious vegan options - Edit
I ate here four times during my short stay in Tulum - because they have something for every mood you’re in! Decent breakfast menu, pasta (regular and vegetable), pizza, burgers and Mexican dishes - even some Asian inspired ones. Unfortunately the vegan omelette was sold out when I was there for breakfast, would have loved to try that!

Delicious food and good location - Edit
I tried the tacos and the avocado smoothie. The smoothie had not much taste but i think that is how its supposed to be. The tacos were delicious and although the portion looked small to me, it was really filling. The atmosphere is relaxed, the restaurant looked clean and hip and it seems they offer wifi although i didnt try it. I would visit this place again if i would have more time in Tulum.

Very cool place - Edit
We had the empanadas , falafel plate , and veggie pizza . All were good but not quite great. Veggie pizza was a little doughy and light on toppings which was disappointing . We also had a beet, apple, ginger drink which was quite good. Alcohol beverages were quite strong. They had some great music playing and had a laid back atmosphere , right on the street . Prices were decent and service good. Would definitely recommend !

Perfect for everyone! - Edit
Great place - we went 3 times in a row because it caters to vegans, as well as fussy eaters! It offers pizza, pasta, Mexican meals, and many more. Almost all were vegan/could be made vegan. Good size mains (for around 120 pesos), and small but perfect desserts (all vegan!). 5% charge on card payment kind of annoying. Staff were lovely! Highly recommended.

We had a not happy expireance here, the beet hamburger was too sweet and the 'sea food' plate was too chili , even for my mexican friend :( nobody asked us if we like the food or not, and we were given the bill without asking for it. I felt uncomfteble and unwanted.

Beware if you avoid honey! - Edit
It seems strange but staff seems to not know what vegan means and are completely unaware that some vegans don’t eat honey. My banana cake came doused in honey after I was assured it was vegan. As other reviewers have noted in general food is bland. Do yourself a favor and go around the corner to El Vegetariano.

Terrible Staff and Bland Food - Edit
My girlfriend is gluten free and asked if the falafel dish contained any wheat or gluten. The waiter checked and came back and said there was no gluten. The dish came out and had five dishes, one was wheat bread, one was pearl barley salad and one was BBQ sauce with wheat thickener. She said (kindly) that she couldn't eat that since it had gluten and if she could have more falafel instead. Long story short, the owner came over and was unnecessarily rude about the situation and made a scene. It was uncalled for, especially since we checked beforehand. The food was very bland and disappointing. Massive disappointment.
