Exceptional find out of season in Montsoreau

We felt so lucky to have found this lovely crêperie open on a cold January day in Montsoreau when most of the other local restaurants were shut for the month. And all the more so that this was potentially the most vegan friendly of them all. As a vegan in France I am usually content with a good plate of chips or a green salad and was prepared for that today. But we had the warmest welcome from the owner, who fully understood what being vegan means, and who herself is vegetarian. The vegan option was incredible - a crepe with no dairy (who knew?) topped with a special local mushroom called a “galipette” stuffed with a seasonable vegetable medley stir fry with beautiful garnishes of micro-greens and various fresh salad leaves. If you are travelling with non vegans, the menu is extensive and apparently excellent according to my husband. We felt so welcome, and the service and food were outstanding. Go here if you are in the area and want something freshly cooked, delicious and vegan!

Pros: Lovely owner, Delicious food, Generous portions

Cons: Nothing to dislike!
