Cheap, cheerful & filling - Edit
Arrived at 12pm on a Monday for lunch and they weren’t quite ready yet, the owner was about to write up the daily dishes for the menu del día. He was soon ready though and the restaurant started filling up with more customers. The owner was a super friendly, warm and funny man. The main dish had 4 options and after we said we were vegan, he explained which of them were off the cards because of milk/cheese/eggs.
Read moreStarter was a big bowl of hearty vegetable soup and for mains my partner and I had one of each vegan option - lentil stew and noodles with tomato sauce. The food was simple - nothing mind-blowing but it filled us up. And so cheap! 10 soles for the set menu including a soup, main dish and a glass of tea.
Pros: the nicest owner, cheap, large portions

La Delicia - Edit
Mostly vegan restaurant. Had Lomo Saltado, Corn Soup and salad. Delicious. Owner very friendly. Explained what is vegan.

Pleased to find this - vegan options - Edit
I was pleased to find this place. Unexpected. A popular little place that serves an inexpensive daily menu which seemed mostly vegan - although I didn't inquire strongly because I was hungry (cycled in over the mountains) and just so happy to find something in a fairly typical town that is overwhelmed with places selling chicken and chips. This is the only veg place in town as far as I could make out. Sells some health food products and the manager was really helpful and friendly (in spanish).
