THE vegan highlight in A Coruña - Edit
As of writing of this review the only 100% vegan restaurant in A Coruña. The staff was extremely friendly and very versed in questions regarding allergies. The menu is huge and can be a bit overwhelming. However, it seems as if you can't really make a bad choice. We went there several times and every dish was exceptional and the prices are fair.

We love vegan food that represents the local cuisine, and La Cuchara Veggie does not disappoint in that regard. We had croquetas, empanadillas, callos a la gallega and fabada vegana al estilo asturiano, and everything was delicious. For dessert, the almond and cacao truffles were excellent as well.

Tanto la beyond meat como la moving mountains son las mejores hamburguesas que probé nunca, con un pan fresco riquísimo, bien rellenas (no la típica hoja de lechuga y mini rodaja de tomate), con sus patatas. Los pequeños también están muy buenos y el carrot cake una pasada.

What a find! Simply superb! - Edit
On day one of our holidays driving 1,350km of touring around the beautiful Galician countryside, we found La Cuchara Veggie. We made sure to arrive at lunchtime when we had seen it would be open. We already knew it was a take away place only, you cannot sit down there to eat. Being set way out of the centre of town and in an 'odd' location for a business like this, we were a bit sceptical, approaching the place on foot, as it looked like it was locked up, shut down and permanently closed. We were about to turn away when one of their neighbours, in a residential block walked out and we quickly asked him if the place had closed for good. He said 'No, it's not shut permanently!' so we rang the telephone number in the sign above the door. And wow are we happy that we did! A bearded chap answered the door very quickly after we phoned. He gave us a QR code to scan and that brought up a huge menu of 100% vegan food on our mobile phone. We chose a large Pizza Galaíca at 11.90 euros, which had a gorgeous and inventive topping of a warm oatmilk bechamel sauce topped with gently wilted turnip top leaves, mushrooms, fake bacon and veggie cheese. As well we chose some homemade hummus and a couple of desserts: a carrot cake at 5.00 euros and an apple pie at 3.50 euros, as well as a couple of drinks. After 35 mins. of strolling around our hot lunch was ready to take away and we went to the park close by to sit and watch the ducks on the pond and the passers by, with a lovely sunny afternoon sea view from our vantage point. The pizza was sublime, the hummus very tasty and a big portion. When it got to dessert both of us were totally wowed. The apple cake was a complete bargain at 3.50, being a good portion and absolutely delicious. My husband was in raptures over that apple cake. The carrot cake was a simply ENORMOUS size and delicious with a very moist vegan cream-cheese topping. Both were definitely fantastic and I would challenge anyone that is not a vegan to try either of them. I guarantee they would not say 'They taste funny, they are not 'normal' cakes'. The skill of the chef for all of the these dishes was exceptional. If only we did not live 1,000 km. away from A Coruna normally, we'd make sure we were regulars at this excellent place, we would eat our way round their fab menu! Good to hear from the bearded chap that this place has been going now and increasingly busily for 6 years and I hope they continue their domination of A Coruna's vegan cuisine!

Malísimo!! Pizzas frías y sosas. 19€ y lo único rescatable fue las croquetas. Si aún siguen teniendo clientela es porque es vegano que si no hace rato hubiera cerrado. Entiendo que Galicia lo que dice vegan friendly no es pero no es motivo para apoyar todo negocio "vegetariano/vegano" que vaya saliendo y sobretodo si lo que sirven no lo vale.

Read moreLa primera algo para comer en el momento y otras cosas precocinadas para otro día. Llegaron casi media hora despues del la hora limite y todo frío. El plato precocinado a los tres días en la nevera estaba hinchado y lo tuvimos que tirar.
Les dimos otra oportunidad pero igual. Llegaron a tiempo pero todo frío igual, probamos las croquetas de grelos que nos recomendaron pero eso de grelo solo tenía el nombre.
Además es muy caro para las cantidades de comida, al no ser restaurante y tener comida envasada.

Read moreSi bien las croquetas estaban regular (Poco sabor a grelos, bastante insípidas aunque con un punto muy bueno de preparación en el relleno y la fritura) la pizza puedo decir que es la mejor que he comido nunca, gran elección de ingredientes y el queso vegano con un sabor excelente aunque sin duda la masa es el culmen de calidad.
Muchas ganas de repetir!
