Delicious Chiapan traditional food made vegan

Some of the best (vegan) food I’ve eaten in Mexico! I had “pepito con tasajo”, a traditional Chiapan dish, and the local maíz and cacao drink “pozol”. The location/views of the lake were also really special. I spoke with the extremely friendly owners, who explained to me their (sometimes challenging) mission to promote local cuisine, and a circular economy, using sustainable, fresh products, including plant-based. This restaurant is a must if you come to Chiapa de Corzo.

Lovely Spot

The owner was so lovely, he stayed open late to accomodate us. The food is excellent, with plenty of vegan options if you have good Spanish😉

Wow just wow!! So good

Best vegan food I have had in Chiapas! Get the traditional soy based food for a great experience. With a view like no other! Food is all from local houses and farms ☺️

I felt blessed while having lunch at this lovely spot with a marvellous view and hospitable team. Vegan meals are many and visibly labelled. I had a plant based version of the cuchunuc salad with avocado, which was excellent. So was the tazcalate, a pre-hispanic drink made from golden corn (pinole), cocoa, cinnamon and annotte. Only the tostada without cheese was not the best choice and lacked clearly something creamy in order to be a good concocted dish.
