Serves meat, vegan options available. Pizza, pasta, and empanadas menu with around 70% being vegetarian (ovo, lacto). Small restaurant, seats 30, est. since 2013. Reported closed January 2023.
Sólo dos opciones veganas (sopa y papas andinas) y una ensalada veganizable sacándole el huevo y el queso, aunque quedaba bastante aburrida.
Las sillas están cubiertas con piel de animal.
After finding out there was no vegetarian restaurant in Tilcara, my girlfriend and I found La Cheba 1910 and decided to give a try. The restaurant offers several vegetarian options in its menu (maybe 70-80% of it is vegetarian), but not many of them are suitable for vegans. We ordered a pizza, and even being the first clients to sit down that evening it took almost one hour until we were served. The wait would be a good moment to connect to internet, check emails and send news to our family, but the WiFi simply didn't work. Relaxing was not possible too, since the music was terribly loud during most of the time.
Well, when the pizza finally came it was absolutely tasteless. We had been told that everything in the restaurant was homemade, but honestly, that pizza seemed to have been bought frozen at the local market. Our hunger made it possible to eat it completely, but the experience was totally insipid. Not only the long wait, the WiFi that didn't work, the loud music and the tasteless food, it was really uncomfortable to sit on the rawhide that covered the chair.
Anyway, maybe that was an isolated experience and other dishes are delicious. It's nice that most of the menu is vegetarian, so future reviews might be a bit different and more positive than mine.
