Il prezzo è fin troppo basso per la qualità degli ingredienti e la passione con cui vengono lavorati e trasformati in piatti deliziosi.
E se questo non bastasse, il locale è molto bello, con un’atmosfera accogliente e calda che trasmette serenità.

Ho pranzato oggi in questo posto nel quale attendono di andare con trepidazione. Ambiente davvero fuori dal tempo, cibo cucinato e servito con amore e attenzione. Ottime le materie prime, si sente la freschezza al gusto e la bontà che dona anche successivamente sazietà ma senza appesantire. I proprietari davvero accoglienti e piacevoli. La cena di Pitagora è una locanda posta in un tranquillo borgo dell'oltrepo. I gestori sono persone attente e simpatiche, mettono grande cura e passione in quello che fanno. I menù sono curati e sempre ottimi, le camere e il contesto in generale sono fantastici, ci si trova immersi tra i fiori del cortile e una grande libreria in un'atmosfera di pace. Per noi è ormai una tappa fissa.

We spend one week in this beautiful location and were able to enjoy a great breakfast every day aswell as 5 times a really very good 4 courses menue. Everything made fresh with local products and very good quality and taste. I can truly recommend this great place! The atmosphere and the hosts are great, too - not to forget the two lovely dogs and cats. Will love to come for another stay here…

I've dined several times at this cozy restaurant along the last two and a half years and every time there was memorable. The village where the restaurant is located is super cute, the restaurant's atmosphere is great, the quality of the ingredients they use is high and the dishes they serve are always beautiful and delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and having the chance of cuddle the place's cats after the dinner is always great. I highly recommend this place to everyone here!

I ate here this night and the food was really worth of a star ! If you search a vegan gastronomical experience just come here! The owners are a very sympathic couple that have also accomodation and a room for your yoga practice. The region has wine roads and many paths for walking in the mountains. I will definately come back here !

This restaurant is such a delightful find in an unexpected place in the small old town of San Ponzo. We travel overseas every year and we have been to many vegan restaurants that are excellent but the food experience at La Cena di Pitagora is truly exceptional and at a surprisingly good price. This small restaurant has a pleasant, casual and quirky atmosphere. The owners are very kind and friendly and also speak English. We came here twice whilst visiting this region and each time was unique and special. You feel that the food is made with love and with a beautiful intention. There is a set menu, with each course being creative and utterly delicious! Our experience here is part of the reason we are inspired to return to this region next year. Thank you for giving us this wonderful memory of our holiday. We look forward to returning next year!

Ensuite, la "cascina" de la Cena di Pitagora : de vieux bâtiments de ferme magnifiquement rénovés autour d'une cour carrée plantée d'herbes aromatiques, de fleurs et de vigne vierge, une pergola recouverte d'une glycine blanche... Dans la salle commune, préparée pour nous deux seulement ce soir là, de beaux meubles de récupération, des lumières tamisées, un feu dans le poêle à bois, un mur entier de livres, des brochures militantes, un peu de musique : une ambiance simple et chaleureuse. C'est là (je crois) que se tiennent les réunions et les conférences de l'association.
Le repas (entièrement vegan) : j'ai noté la composition de chaque plat tant elle m'a semblé parfaite. Pour commencer, un antipasto de légumes craquants marinés à l'huile d'olive et au citron avec quelques cubes de bavarois d'épinards. Maria, en cuisine, est douée. C'est une esthète perfectionniste qui a le sens de l'équilibre. Il y a de la douceur, du croquant et juste la pointe d'amertume qu'il faut pour étonner. La présentation aussi est magnifique, à la fois savamment composée et sans chichis. Vient ensuite un "primo" de pâtes maison fondantes avec une crème à la sauge et aux poireaux, saupoudrées de noisettes grillées. Là encore, l'équilibre est parfait, fondant, craquant, douceur, et toujours le petit goût inattendu qui relève tout et qui fait qu'on s'en souviendra : ici, la sauge.
Pour le "secondo", des pancakes aux carottes, très doux, sur un lit lamelles de chou cru sauce tahini qui en est le parfait contrepoint. Et en dessert, une spécialité locale véganisée : le salami de chocolat. En voyant arriver deux épaisses tranches chocolatées, j'ai pensé que ce serait lourd et indigeste, mais Maria avait eu la main légère sur le sucre, et l'acidulé du coulis fraise coco a fait le reste : une fois de plus, pari gagné. Ah, j'oubliais le pain maison fait par Davide et le vin blanc local... Je n'aime pas trop le vin, et encore moins le blanc, mais celui-là n'était ni doux ni sec, plutôt robuste et rond, on l'a adoré. Au début on négociait pour ne pas prendre une bouteille entière mais juste un verre, puis de verre en verre, la bouteille y est passée.
J'ai presque honte de m'étendre autant sur la nourriture, comme si c'était le plus important dans la vie... Mais c'est que ce soir là a été magique : on est arrivés l'esprit plombé par la mort prochaine d'un parent et l'espace de quelques heures, on a oublié. Une parenthèse de légèreté et de chaleur.
Nous avons dormi sur place, dans l'unique chambre à louer (qui communique si besoin avec une deuxième chambre à trois lits), et là encore, tout était pensé pour qu'on se sente bien. De l'espace, des meubles de récupération, des poutres peintes en blanc au plafond, comme les murs, des tomettes rouges, une belle plante grasse à l'allure échevelée, un lit confortable, une salle de bain impeccablement propre...
Et je garde le meilleur pour la fin : Maria et Davide. J'ai eu une bonne impression avant même de les rencontrer. Je leur ai envoyé un petit mail le jour même de notre visite pour leur demander s'ils pouvaient nous recevoir, et la réponse a été immédiate : "oui, on vous attend". J'ai su plus tard qu'ils étaient en principe fermé ce jour là, mais ils ont ouvert pour nous. Un accueil simple, chaleureux, personnel. Ils ont été présents tout le long tout en respectant nos moments d'intimité. Nous sommes repartis avec un livre qu'ils nous ont offert et des boutures dans des pots...
Je crois que c'est l'unique fois de ma vie où j'ai insisté pour payer plus que le prix demandé. Ils avaient l'air de s'excuser de me demander de payer en m'apportant l'addition, et moi j'avais le sentiment que ce que j'avais reçu valait bien davantage.
