Not bad for the oasis - Edit
Appreciated the clearly labelled vegan options with a good variety. Ate here twice, the soy meat bolognese and falafel pita were quite good. The vegan sandwich (listed as hummus, olives, spinach and peppers) was just okay. It was missing spinach but had lots of olives which I liked. The side of fries were very undercooked though.
Read moreI preferred the vegan sandwich at Banana’s/Tiki Backyard, it included basil which added good flavour, and the fries were cooked perfectly.
Pros: clear options, vegan protein - soy meat or falafel
Cons: undercooked fries

Lots of vegan options! - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised by the wide vegan selection on the menu. All vegan dishes are clearly labeled and easy to find. The variety is great – they have a delicious Bolognese with soy mince, rice with mushroom sauce (saltado), and burgers made from chickpeas or lentils. There’s even a spicy vegan Thai curry. For breakfast, they offer porridge with soy milk, and they also have plantbased milk for coffee. There’s definitely something for every taste here – highly recommended for vegans in Huacachina!

Nice to Have a Vegan Option in the Area 🌿 - Edit
The food was just okay overall, but there aren’t many options around Huacachina, so it was nice to have a place that offered vegan choices.

Good meals for a good price but wouldn’t go back - Edit
Very cute decor, and clearly labelled vegan options on the menu. I got the falafel sandwich with avocado and it was delicious. I would strongly recommend getting avocado added for 4 soles as it really elevated the sandwich and I think it would’ve been a bit dry without it. My partner got the lentil burger and he said the fries were good but the lentil patty was like a baby food texture and a bit too wet for his liking. Friendly staff and good service but we probably won’t go back.

Decent food but not all ‘vegan’ options are vegan - Edit
There were quite a few clearly-labelled vegan options on the menu and we had the Thai red curry (nice) and lentil burger (meh). The trouble came when I ordered a vegan milkshake. I’d asked what was in it and been told it was just soy milk, but when it arrived it had cream on top which they confirmed did contain dairy. The waiter only agreed to get me another one when I told him I was allergic to dairy, and even then tried to charge me for the first milkshake when we got the bill, even though we hadn’t touched it. Not convinced the staff fully understand what vegan means, so double check what you order if you do eat here.

Did not look tasty when served but tasted quite good. The pasta was a bit too long boiled.
They did not have a vegan milkshake that day.🥛

Good, simple food - Edit
Several options on the menu and nice outdoor setting. We enjoyed the Thai curry (wish there had been tofu or a protein in it), hummus, Andean salad and the champignon saltado. The pita bread they serve for breakfast is fantastic. Friendly service.

The best thing I ate whilst in Huacachina. The falafel was crispy, hummus tasty and the pita was nicely toasted.

Okay Food - Edit
There is many [censored] Places to eat at in Huacachina, so it’s hard to find something that will delight you. This place offers okay food. Would probably rate it 2 stars if it was somewhere else, but it’s good enough to fill your stomach and not leave you disgusted. Probably one of the best places in Huacachina….

Good food ans big portions - Edit
La casa de Bamboo has quite a nice choice for vegans and also includes a vegan option in their menu del dia. We had Spaghetti Bolognese, the quinoa salad (for take-away) and the chickpea burger. All was really nice, just the burger patty wasn't cooked well and the fries were soft and soaky like in all other peruvian places. The quinoa salad however was super yummy with a lot of fresh vegetables and herbs. Also, the portions are reasonably big so one plate per person is definitely enough 😆

Pretty good! - Edit
Lovely staff and atmosphere in this Hostel restaurant, great music aswell. Food wise I had a veggie lentil burger, the burger was big (I did pay extra for cheese & egg) and the chips were amazing! The burger bun itself was a letdown however, the lentil bun wasn’t fully cooked and quite squishy which detracted from the overall experience. If your looking for a veggie burger maybe try the chickpea one instead.😄they did have other veggie food though. Spend 29 soles on the meal so not bad.

several vegan options, good portions - Edit
This hostel with their thai style has several vegan/vegetarian options on the menu marked with a V. Be sure to ask the staff as some dishes might be vegetarian. I had the Thai Curry, very spicy but yummy and filling and my boyfriend had the vegan Spagetthi with soy bolognese, which was ok. The hot chocolate with plant milk was nice! Recommended!

Surprisingly good falafel - Edit
I went here for most of my meals in Huacachina out of convenience. It’s probably one of the best options in town and everyone working there was friendly. The big downside is that there’s no distinction between vegetarian and vegan on the menu, just ambiguous V markings. You’ll need to ask for clarification. I was told the veggie burger options were vegan, but I have my doubts on the bun, which looks like it may have had an egg wash holding the sesame seeds on there. Reasonably likely seeing as Peru has a habit of putting egg and/or milk in ALL of the bread products :.
Read moreThe fries here are yellow potatoes cut thick and served up fresh. They’re not crispy, more of a chunky potatoey style fry, but they’re nicely seasoned and I really enjoyed them. The Thai curry is good but expensive, and be warned it takes 40 minutes or so to come out.
Highlight for me was the falafel meal. The falafels themselves were substantially better than I expected — not competing with proper Syrian falafel or anything, but way better than you’d expect from an oasis in Peru. Downside is that the portion is a bit small, it really should come with fries or a small side salad or something.
Skip the guac appetizer: it’s a tiny bowl of guac with some bagged corn chips and you don’t get nearly enough for nearly the price of a meal.
3.5 stars if HappyCow would allow it, rounded up to a 4 to not drag their rating down.

Basic food - Edit
Isn't a large amount of options, breakfast consisted of beans on toast, peanut butter on toast or oatmeal (which wasn't great) the Thai red curry though was very flavourful, but not worth the money!

Had the best ‘pasta simple’ here! Pasta in an insane tomato sauce with mushrooms and broccoli. Incredibly simple but amazing taste! Definitely going back. Everything looked amazing.
