unfortunately, not great - Edit
I unfortunately have to agree with the post before me - I picked this place for my grandmother's birthday because it's nice and classical for her and because they're supposed to have vegan options for me... but t hat wasn't the case: they didn't have any pastry or cake that's vegan (though it even said "vegan" on a sticker on the door... ). The service was poor (maybe she just had a bad day?! But the vegan request seemed to be too much). They do have oat milk - although it seems like they don't use it much - mine was sour - had to order a new coffee... Nothing we ordered (the rest of the family isn't vegan) was particularly good (more the opposite....). I hate leaving bad reviews, but I think one should know, if you try the place there is the possibility for it not being the best experience. Well, the interior is really cute cozy old fashioned Austrian coffeehouse style! And maybe they just had a really bad day...

No apfelstrudel, no Linzer Torte - Edit
Went to both shops near the main square in the same morning when leaving Linz looking for Apfelstrudel and the typical and famous Linzer Torte. Nothing. The manager of one of them told me they had to bake them yet, but they weren't be read before midday. Disappointing.

Frühstück 🍳 - Edit
Wiener Frühstück war sehr gut, aber auch übersichtlich. Walnuss Brötchen sind zu empfehlen. Nettes Personal und stylische Inneneinrichtung.

Good breakfast - Edit
The k.u.k. Hofbäckerei opened another store in Linz and we paid them a visit as they are offering a vegan breakfast and coffee with plant milk, also they seem to offer at least one vegan soup.
Read moreThe breakfast was very delicious with three kinds of spreads, some vegetables and two bread rolls which you can choose.
Alas theres a (personal) downside of it: I found that the vegetables and also the spread servings were a bit too little. I would have loved to have more vegetable variety and just to be a bit more of it all.
If you want to have a bigger breakfast including porridge you might want to check out the Cubus Restaurant at the ARS Electronica Center.
