Disappointing - Edit
We went there , looking forward for something sweet after a lunch in an other place .
When you enter the room the first thing in minde is "amazingggggg " .
A 2,5meter table is covered by cakes and tartes and from some meters it looks awesome .
Then from nearer , we discovered that there were only 2 vegans choices ( reading the other reviews, it seems that , it s always the two same choices .... ) and as I pastryshop owner myself , I reconize in two second that most of the cake aren t really fresh . The table is a wood furniture , no cooling at all and ofcrouse after some hours ( some days for some of them ?? ) the cake were not looking nice .
We just tried the vegan chococake and must admit it was tasty as it was looking like .... boring :(
My feeling is that the cooks aren t vegan and never tasted their cake .
I , unfortunatly , cannot recommend this place . Even if we came there , really excited about the concept .
Cons: Not enought choice , not fresh , mega boring taste

Not many vegan choices in cakes - Edit
We went there looking for cakes, as the name hints ("cake-mafia") and were a little disappointed by finding only one vegan cake among the cakes, a chocoloate cake that was ok. Its a place where a vegan will find things to eat, but it doesnt offer a great variety to choose from, at least not in cakes. So we felt a bit as if we did all the travel to get there in vain. Nice relaxed coffeeshop, though, great neighbourhood joint, and with an extra room for kids to play.

Breakfast and cake in a nice atmosphere - Edit
A very friendly waitress explained which breakfast could be prepared vegan (the "Rustikales Frühstück" with vegetable spread, two different types of vegan cold cuts, three slices of wholemeal bread and A LOT of fruit, vegetables and salad, olives and oil) - it was a big and filling plate for 6,9€.
In general, the snacks are quite heavy on the ovo-lacto-vegetarian side but I hope that will change in the future.
There were about six different types of cake out of which two were marked vegan - chocolate cake and Linzer cake. The chocolate cake was good but nothing out of this world. The Linzer cake tasted very sweet and of not much else than sugar, I have to say. Around 2€ for a pice of cake isn't such a bad price, though, and I think it's a good thing that take-out costs an extra 30 cents.
What isn't very fair but something you come across a lot is that you're charged extra for soy milk. Even though the 20 cents they charge for this here is quite little (other places often charge about 50 cents more) I hope this discrimination will change in the future.
The atmosphere and music at Kuchenmafia were very enjoyable and if maybe not for the cake I will probably go back for their breakfast and the friendly service.
Pros: friendly staff, atmosphere, vegan breakfast and cakes
Cons: more vegan options, please, cakes a bit bland, extra charge for soya milk
