Liberating & restorative vision, delicious full-fat coconut ice cream - Edit
This business is super exciting for endless reasons. Not only are the ice creams incredibly tasty with with beautifully vibrant flavors, but the owners are interested in building “a full-circle regenerative plant-based economy that restores value, health, and joy by building models of restorative economics, food justice, racial and gender equity, and climate justice."
Read moreThe ice cream is made locally in Oakland, and they produce their "own full-fat coconut cream, by cold-pressing mature coconuts from organic, regenerative family-owned coconut farms, in Mexico". They also donate the coconut byproducts to urban community gardens in low income areas, which become regenerative soil to grow more organic food. Their hiring practices are fantastic, too. They focus on hiring returning citizens and mothers returning to the workforce.
Any time I want ice cream, I'm going to get it from kubé now. You can also find them at Rainbow Grocery in SF and Mandela Grocery in Oakland. The key lime and lemon ginger flavors that I tried were perfect. It's crazy how fresh and real the ingredients taste compared to any other ice cream. You'll have to try all these flavors and see for yourself!
