Krümelküche is vegan cafe operating since Aug 2014 in the Hausprojekt Hochfeld, a place for people to create something they like, to live together, and to join different projects. Serves vegan burgers, sandwiches, cakes. Everything is house-made, and most ingredients are organic. There's also a little shop selling vegan products in the entrance room as well as a space for local artists to sell their products. Hosts concerts some weekends. Companion animal friendly. Reported closed December 2024.

The burgers and sandwiches are both amazing, the environment is fabulous to relax and eat fantastic food. Super friendly staff and the desserts and cakes are literally to die for! Possibly the best vegan restaurant I've been to.

Dieses Restaurant in ist ein Schmuckstück in Duisburg. Aufgrund der vielen guten Bewertungen bin ich extra nach Duisburg gefahren und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Meine Freundin und ich haben den Mandarinen-Keesekuchen, die Spinat Quiche und den Burger probiert. Wir sind total begeistert und haben uns sogar noch Kuchen für den nächsten Tag mitgenommen. Gerne kommen wir bald wieder. Große Empfehlung

Good food and a nice atmosphere. I wasn't that hungry and opted for the ‘vorspeisen teller’ . It was very tasty and although it was supposed to be a starter, it was really a generous portion. My boyfriend opted for a sandwich and he was also very happy with his choice. We had a very nice lunch!

The atmosphere is somewhat pleasantly disorganised, sometimes also with a bit of a wait.
We had a 'fish'burger (actually fish fingers), a seitan burger, both with regular fries, with vegan mayo and joppie sauce, a piece of cake and cheese pie, fritz cola, 2 lemonades and a coffee for about 60€.
Is on ground floor and accessible (although not much space to manouver around inside). Didnt see an accessible toilet.
Gave them a Happy Cow sticker, which was immediately put on the window 😊

Wir waren im Frühling in der Krümelküche zum Tortenprobieren. Jede Torte war grandios, sodass wir direkt zwei Torten mit insgesamt sechs Geschmacksrichtungen für unsere Hochzeit bestellt hatten.

Read moreThey always had delicious cakes. I dont know about the rest of the food, except for the fries which I liked.
The café has a very comfortable interior with cosy corners where you can relax in oldfashioned chairs, think plush and coffee tables. The athmosphere is relaxed and alternative.
There is a quiet yard in front as well where you can sit outside with both shaded and sunny corners.
So far I have not been dissapointed.

Visited on the way back to Holland coming from vegan hell Austria. Nice, friendly staff, great food, we got a piece of spinach quiche on the house and an extra chocolat milk after our toddler kicked the first one on the floor.

Ein sehr gemütliches und rustikal eingerichtetes Café im Herzen von Duisburg. Hier kann jeder etwas leckeres zu essen finden ganz egal ob einem der Sinn nach Kaffee und Kuchen ist oder etwas herzhaften. Dazu ist das Personal super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch Sonderwünsche beim Essen können umgesetzt werden. Kuchen/Torten und Catering werden auch als Auftragsarbeit (z.B zum Geburtstag oder einer Hochzeit) angeboten.

This is a cute lovely vegan place, offering burgers, salads, sandwiches quiches cakes, cocktails and more. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Reasonably priced. They also have life concerts. Don't miss out!
